This mother/daughter show had an amazing cast and was filled with laughs, love, and lots of drama!

The series ran for a total of seven seasons and 153 episodes, and fans loved each one of them. However, there are ten episodes that stood out from the rest as being the very best, according to IMDb’s ranking system. Here are the episodes of GG that topped the charts:

10 Love, Daisies, And Troubadours – 8.7

There are a whopping eleven episodes with a score of 8.7, but we narrowed it down to the first one shown in the series. The finale of season one finds relationships changing for everyone. Rachel breaks up with Luke after becoming tired of always having to fight for his attention with Lorelei.

Dean shows up at Rory’s school to see her with Tristan, and he gets the wrong idea. Rory tells him not to go, and when he asks why, she tells him, ” Because I love you, you idiot!” Things are a bit rocky with Lorelei and Max, but after he proposes with a thousand yellow daisies, just like Lorelei dreamed of, she’s left with a big decision to make.

9 Rory’s Dance – 8.8

Rory asks Dean to attend the Chilton formal dance with her, even though she isn’t sure if he’s her official boyfriend, and he happily accepts. Things are going well at the dance until Dean gets into a fight with the infamous Tristan, which leads to Rory and Dean leaving early. Not wanting the evening to be over, they sneak into Ms. Patty’s dance studio to talk. However, talking eventually leads to sleeping, and Rory fails to return home for the evening.

Lorelei and Emily, who had been helping Lorelei with her hurt back, wake up to find Rory gone, and Lorelei is forced to defend her daughter’s honor. When Rory does come home, Lorelei reveals that she doesn’t necessarily believe the things she had told Emily.

8 I Can’t Get Started – 8.8

Sookie is getting married in the season two finale, and everyone is excited. Christopher has shown up in town, much to Rory and Lorelei’s surprise. He stays at the house and gets closer to Lorelei, and the two decide that they want to make a romantic relationship work together.

He accompanies the girls to Sookie’s wedding, but he has to leave early when he gets a call that his current girlfriend, with whom he had wanted to break it off, is pregnant. Rory gets a surprise too when Jess comes back to Stars Hollow, and the first thing he does is come to see Rory. She impulsively kisses him, despite still being with Dean, and tells him not to say anything.

7 Wedding Bell Blues – 8.8

It’s the one-hundredth episode of Gilmore Girls, and after a separation between them, Emily and Richard are back together and plan to renew their wedding vows! It’s going to be extravagant, as are all of Emily’s parties. As is also usual with a Gilmore get together, there is drama and issues going on behind the scenes.

Emily has invited Christopher, and he tells Luke that “everyone knows” that he (Chris) and Lorelei are the ones that actually belong together. During the fight, both men and Lorelei happen to walk in on Rory kissing Logan, a boy from school.

6 They Shoot Gilmores, Don’t They? – 9

It’s time for another Stars Hollow town event, and this time, it’s the twenty-four-hour dance-a-thon! Lorelei is determined to finally win this year, and Rory, somewhat reluctantly, agrees to be her partner. Things are looking good for them, but when Jess shows up with his girlfriend, he and Rory begin to get on each other’s nerves.

When Dean steps onto the dance floor to dance with Rory while Lorelei handles a shoe emergency, he can’t stand Rory and Jess’ flirting disguised as bickering any longer, and he breaks up with her. This causes Rory and Lorelei to lose the competition because Rory stops dancing.

5 Those Are Strings, Pinocchio – 9

Rory is about to graduate from Chilton, and she knows her life will never be the same. She became valedictorian and is ready to make a speech on the big day. She also needs money for Yale and decides to borrow it from her grandparents.

They reestablish Friday night dinners, as they had been doing when she and Lorelei borrowed money for Chilton. Lorelei is not happy about this, even though Rory said that her mother doesn’t have to attend. On the day of graduation, Rory gets a brand new car from her grandparents!

4 Last Week Fights, This Week Tights – 9

The wedding bells are ringing in town once again, and Luke’s sister Liz is the one saying, “I do.” Jess comes back to Stars Hollow once again to walk her down the aisle, and while he’s around, he decides to patch up loose ends.

He thanks Luke for everything and then heads to Rory’s dorm at Yale. Rory is shocked to see him, but she is even more caught off guard by the things he says. He tells her that he wasn’t ready to be with her when they were in high school, but he’s ready now. Jess goes on to say that they both know they’re supposed to be together, but Rory refuses his proposal to run away with him.

3 Friday Night’s Alright For Fighting – 9.1

Luke is spending some time with his newly discovered daughter, and while Lorelei now knows about her, he does not want the two girls to spend any time together. Lorelei decides that even though she told Luke that they could postpone the wedding, she’s going to secretly continue with plans in the hopes that he will come around to having it on June third when the date gets closer.

Rory and Lorelei head to Friday night dinner, and all hell breaks loose. They argue about one thing after another, including Rory quitting Yale, Rory being friends with Emily’s DAR ladies, and Lorelei getting pregnant at sixteen.

2 Boy Voyage – 9.2

Rory is graduating from Yale, and the whole town wants to see a reenactment of the ceremony! She and Lorelei are also planning a summer trip to ride all the best roller coasters in the country.

Turns out that the plans will have to wait because Rory got offered a job for the summer! The people of Stars Hollow are very disappointed that there won’t be a reenactment party, but Luke decides to step in. With the help of Sookie and the whole town, he puts together a going away party that’s a surprise to both Rory and Lorelei. This served as the show’s finale episode.

1 Raincoats Recipes – 9.3

There is one episode rated higher than the series finale, and that’s the opening night of The Dragonfly Inn! Everyone has been working extremely hard to set up everything, from architecture to hotel running logistics. One person who has been there helping with construction is Dean, and he and Rory are getting closer, despite him being married.

They end up sleeping together at the Gilmore house during the inn opening. Back at the inn, Lorelei is making her own intimate advances when she and Luke finally kiss for the first time.
