The recent DC superhero film Birds of Prey featured many memorable and amazing characters. She was written over 70 years ago and the Black Canary is one of the most iconic characters in the DC universe. So it was an honor to be the vessel through which she was brought to film.”

Visiting the White House is an unforgettable experience for everyone across the world. While tourists are sometimes allowed to visit, it’s even better when you’re explicitly invited there, as Jurnee Smollett-Bell found out. She played an important part on the TV show Underground, which takes its viewers back into the past and focuses on slavery in the times of the Civil War. The show ran for two seasons and garnered several awards and even more nominations. What’s more, Jurnee Smollett-Bell and other cast members had the opportunity to screen their show at the White House. Jurnee Smollett-Bell later commented on the experience: “It was such an honor. It was a major moment for us. I remember thinking, ‘This is a wow moment. I don’t know how I’m going to top this moment.’”
