10 Most Powerful Alternate Universe Members Of The X-Men, Ranked
The X-Men have time-traveled enough to create countless new Earths, and here are the most powerful members to come from those worlds.

The X-Men are the one team in Marvel Comics that really kickstarted the ideas of time travel and alternate Earths. Long before Marvel created the Ultimate Universe, several different Earths formed in the pages of X-Men comics. Thanks to events like Days of Future Past and Age of Apocalypse, many members of the X-Men met alternate world mutants.
Many of the alternate world mutants ended up traveling back to the mainstream Marvel Universe and joining up with the X-Men from this world. With members from various Earths, the X-Men proved that they are one of the most powerful teams on the planet, and some of the time-displaced members are even more powerful than the originals.
10 Dark Beast (Earth-295)
Dark Beast was a villain from the Age of Apocalypse, one of the X-Men’s most destructive timelines. However, he was also a member of the Earth-616 X-Men because he kidnapped this world’s Hank McCoy and took his place. He had the same powers as the main Beast, including super strength, agility, and a genius intellect.
This made him very dangerous, because he was an evil genius and was actually responsible in some way for the creation of the Morlocks. However, when it comes to pure power levels, he falls below other alternate world X-Men because he was, at heart, a coward who gave up when the battle got too hot.
9 Shatterstar (Mojoverse)
Shatterstar came from a very different alternate universe. This was not an alternate Earth, but a world known as the Mojoverse. The Mojoverse was a world that had a ruler named Mojo who ran the entire thing like a reality TV show, with him as the producer and creator. He was taken there as a child and raised to be a gladiator until he escaped through the multiverse and ran to the X-Men mansion.
Shatterstar joined the New Mutants first and then X-Force and is still an ally of the X-Men today in Krakoa. The son of Dazzler, his powers include superhuman fighting skills and shockwave generation, and while a great gladiatorial fighter, he isn’t a match to most X-Men members.
8 Time-Displaced Cyclops
After Cyclops killed Professor X, Beast traveled back in time and brought him and the rest of the original X-Men to the present day to torment Scott Summers. It was immoral, and the X-Men ended up forcing Beast out after this because he had no way to get the teenage mutants back to their time.
Of these teenagers, Cyclops himself ended up as a powerful hero, working with the X-Men and also working as a founding member of the Champions. It was with the Champions where Scott came into his own as a leader and teammate and it made him even more powerful when he returned to his own time as the X-Men’s leader.
7 Old Man Logan (Earth-807128)
Old Man Logan came from a timeline where Mysterio tricked Wolverine and he ended up killing every member of the X-Men, believing he was defending the mansion. He also killed Hulk and his entire family, proving he was one of the most powerful heroes in his world.
However, when Old Man Logan ended up on the Earth-616, he joined the X-Men and was basically a lesser-powered version of Wolverine thanks to age and slowing down. He is still Wolverine and he is still powerful, but nowhere near as powerful as younger, more powered-up alternate Earth mutants.
6 Kid Cable (Earth-4935)
Kid Cable is one of two versions of Cable in the Marvel Universe. Both versions came from the future and both are very powerful. However, Kid Cable ranks below his elder version just based on experience.
Kid Cable is more rash and impulsive than his older character. Despite this, he is still very powerful. With many of Cable’s powers, including telepathy, his job was to fix the timelines, but he soon realized he needed help to do so. He has since realized he is not even powerful enough to beat someone like Stryfe, which is why he wants to bring back his older self in current X-Men issues.
5 Bishop (Earth-1191)
Bishop came to Earth with one purpose. He wanted to stop the future that destroyed his world from happening. He actually chased bad guys from his realm and he ended up trapped on Earth-616, where he eventually joined the X-Men. He also wanted one thing – to eliminate Hope Summers, who killed a million humans on his Earth.
Bishop’s powers allow him to absorb energy of almost any kind and then shoot it at anyone in a concentrated blast from his gun. These blasts can be powerful enough to take out nearly anything. He also is more powerful than someone like Kid Cable because of his experience as a soldier and warrior from his world.
4 Cable (Earth-4935)
Cable is someone who is unique on this list. He was actually born on Earth-616, the son of Scott Summers and Madelyne Pryor. After developing the techno-organic virus, he was sent into the far future and ended up raised on a future Earth that Apocalypse had conquered.
Cable ended up back in his original time as an adult, a man who had helped fight for freedom in his own time. However, he was a grizzled warrior who trusted no one and was willing to do anything to stop his future from happening, creating X-Force to proactively do so. Cable is one of the most powerful telepaths alive and he also has techno-organic physiology, which means he is basically a cyborg.
3 Rachel Summers (Earth-811)
Rachel Summers is the daughter of Cyclops and Jean Grey from Earth-811. On this Earth, the Phoenix Force never corrupted Jean Grey and they co-existed, meaning that Rachel was born to the Phoenix Force host.
This gave Rachel the telepathic and telekinetic powers of her mother, but with the added ability to tap into the Phoenix Force when she wanted. Rachel is one of the most powerful psychics in the Marvel Universe, and the Phoenix avatar puts her above mutants like Cable.
2 Hope Summers (Earth-80521)
Hope Summers is similar to Cable in that she was born on Earth-616, but was then taken to another alternate Earth where she was raised. She was the first mutant born after M-Day, one of the most horrific events that devasted Earth’s mutant heroes. A prophecy suggested she would save the entire mutant race.
Cable raised Hope on Earth-80521, where he acted as her father and trained her. The prophecy proved true, as Hope’s powers involved mimicking abilities and helping bring other mutant’s powers to life. It was Hope that gave all mutants their powers back after M-Day, reviving the mutant race. As someone who can copy any mutant’s powers close to her, there are no limits to how powerful she can be.
1 X-Man (Earth-295)
X-Man is Nate Grey, yet another member of the Summers family, albeit an artificially created one. On Earth-295, Mister Sinister created Nate from the genetic material of Scott Summers and Jean Grey, and he hoped to use this creation to battle Apocalypse.
The entire goal for Sinister was to create the most powerful mutant to ever walk the Earth. He is one of the most powerful telepaths on the planet and the most powerful psionic in any universe. He even realized he had the power to destroy entire worlds with just a thought. Over time, his powers were lessened and heightened, but he remains overpowered by all mutant standards.
