10 SpiderSuits We Hope Peter Makes For His Next MCU Appearance

The friendly neighborhood Spider-Man returned to the big screen with much fanfare, debuting in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with a new but familiar costume. Over the course of Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) appearances, he donned different Spider suits to fit his current needs and combat the escalating threats he faced.

But even if he changed suits many times in the movies, these are but a fraction of the number of costumes he wore in the comics. Some of these costumes may be a movie away from being filmed in live-action, while others could be a bit too outrageous at the moment. Still, it doesn’t hurt to dream that Spider-Man wears one of these uniforms. Here are 10 alternate Spider-Man suits that we hope to see in the future MCU.

10 Captain Universe

Now that the MCU is embracing its cosmic side, the possibilities of certain heroes gaining the ehtereal powers are endless. For a short time, Spider-Man was chosen to wield the powers of the Uni-Power and became Captain Universe.

With the powers of the universe (and webs) in his hands, Peter wasn’t just able to dispatch of his strongest foes with ease but he also had the power to bend reality to his liking. He ditched the Uni-Power after it corrupted him, but its appearance in the MCU may be something to look out for.

9 Fear Itself

To fight the magical threats in the crossover arc Fear Itself, Spider-Man is given a new suit created by Tony Stark and the dwarves of Nidavellir. Said suit is a fusion of Earth’s technology and Asgardian magic, making it one of Spider-Man’s most powerful costumes.

Since both Stark Industries and the dwarves are part of the MCU, a collaboration between the two wouldn’t be unlikely. Just because Odin ordered the suit to be destroyed after the event’s conclusion doesn’t mean it can’t appear in the MCU.

8 Superior Spider-Man

Believing himself superior in every way, Doc Ock transplants his brain into Peter’s body to become the Superior Spider-Man. He then improves on every aspect of the webcrawler he viewed as inferior, starting with the costume.

Imagine the Iron Spider suit but somehow even better and deadlier – that’s the Superior Spider-Man’s suit in a nutshell. Not only does it have the same capabilities but they’ve been improved upon, especially since Doc Ock doesn’t have the same regard for life that Peter had. Adding Doc Ock’s intellect to said suit makes the Superior Spider-Man the most lethal incarnation of Spider-Man yet.

7 Advanced Spider-Man Suit

The PS4 game Spider-Man is a wonderful love letter dedicated to all things Spider-Man, and this shows in the innovations that the developers at Insomniac Games added. One such new addition is the Advanced Suit, which (ironically) was improved by none other than Doc Ock himself.

Not only is the Advanced Suit a durable upgrade in the game’s context but it’s a respectful homage to the original designs from the comics. The MCU updates many of its heroes’ looks and designs, and the Advanced Suit is a great way to continue this trend.

6 The Bombastic Bagman

The Fantastic Four have yet to officially enter the MCU but their entrance would allow Spider-Man to wear one of his silliest outfits ever: the Bombastic Bagman.

After successfully removing the alien symbiote from his body (more on that later), Peter has no choice but to use a spare Fantastic Four uniform lying around the Baxter Building to continue fighting crime while keeping his identity a secret. The Bombastic Bagman only appears for a few issues, but it’s an unforgettable gag that needs to be seen on the big screen.

5 Spider-Punk

The Spider-Verse is filled with strange and amazing alternate Spider-Men, one of which is Spider-Punk. As his name and look imply, Spider-Punk fights the power of an evil President Norman Osborn with his spider powers and music.

Spider-Punk is also one of the few incarnations of Spider-Man who’s loved by the common people, and Peter using this identity to win people’s trust following the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home or just to goof off would be fun to watch. Additionally, imagine the kick-ass soundtrack that’d accompany Spider-Punk’s scenes.

4 Spider-Man 2099

Of Spider-Man’s many future versions, Miguel O’Hara from the year 2099 is the most prominent. His initial sleek suit, originally a Day of the Dead costume, is the most iconic one and was recently seen in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Now that the MCU’s multiverse is expanding, visiting the year 2099 isn’t out of the question. Miguel O’Hara’s entrance into the MCU is currently not a priority for Marvel, but seeing the popular futuristic suit would be amazing, to say the least.

3 The Scarlet Spider

One of the few good things to emerge from the mess that was the infamous Clone Saga was Ben Riley, the clone of Peter Parker. Despite learning that he’s a clone, he decides to be a hero and don his own costume as the Scarlet Spider.

The outfit is simple and easily recognizable, quickly becoming a favorite among comic readers of the time and even now. Though the real Peter didn’t wear this particular outfit, it’s still an iconic look that wouldn’t feel misplaced at all if the MCU homaged it in some way.

2 The Black Suit

Like every other superhero before him, Spider-Man went through a lot of redesigns over the decades. During the ’80s, the crossover event Secret Wars gave Spider-Man his famous black costume, which is also his most iconic suit to date.

Notably, the suit didn’t just amplify Peter’s strengths and aggressive side but it was also the alien Symbiote better known as Venom. Though Venom’s appearance in the MCU is still currently up in the air, the debut of Peter’s black suit is something that the MCU can’t miss out on.

1 Leopardon

Of all the Marvel heroes, Spider-Man has some of the most amusing and awesome alternate versions. Quite possibly the strangest yet most beloved of these is the Japanese telvised adaptation of the wall-crawler, where Spider-Man – aka the Emissary of Hell – rode a giant mech named Leopardon.

With today’s special effects technology, bringing Leopardon to life isn’t just plausible but inevitable. As proven by Pacific Rim, giant robots (and their respective giant foes) have their place in live-action cinema and the MCU deserves the legendary robot piloted by Takuya Yamashiro.
