When it was first released, Call of Duty Warzone took the gaming world by storm. Since then, the game transitioned into Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and has continued to evolve and grow as more and more features are added to the battle royale mode. With a massive map and a seemingly infinite amount of things to do and discover in the game mode, there are likely a ton of things that the average or casual player might miss.

Players have discovered a bunch of cool things but so much is overlooked, many of which are features that the game simply doesn’t advertise and leaves players to figure out themselves. Although the massive online community has seemingly searched every inch of Verdansk, there’s plenty that you won’t discover by yourself.

10 Level up Guns in Practice Mode

For players new to Warzone, especially those that don’t have the full version of the game, it can be hard to compete early on even if you’ve played the game before due to the loadout system. Without access to the best weapons, perks, etc. it can then be difficult to level up as players are constantly getting bested by better-equipped players.

A simple solution to this is to play the Warzone practice mode, which will allow you to level up weapons and more, in a considerably easier setting.

9 3 UAV Trick

The UAV is one of the most useful tools that players will have access to. Whether it’s early on in the game or there are less than 10 people left, a UAV is almost always a great thing to have. With that being said, there is a simple but expensive way to get an advanced UAV that will have an enemy location as well as the direction they are facing.

Simply purchase and activate 3 UAVs at the same time in order to trigger the advanced UAV. This is especially useful in quads or trios, where buying 3 UAVs at once is more plausible.

8 Dropping Slower

There are plenty of different approaches to the first drop at the beginning of every warzone match. Some players may attempt to dive quickly and be the first on the ground whereas others want to get as far away from the high-traffic areas as possible.

The best way to get as far as possible is to parachute sideways, rather than forward. When doing this players will notice that they can travel much further and drop safely into a less populated part of the map.

7 Dropping Faster

For players who want to get down on the ground and into the action as soon as possible, it may seem smart to not deploy your parachute at all and simply dive straight to your target. However, this is actually slightly slower than deploying your parachute and immediately going back into a dive.

For some reason, this allows players to dive much faster than normal, allowing you to get to the ground quicker and for a brief moment players will be able to see how many other players are dropping on the same location.

6 Self-Revive Carry Over

Self-revive is another tool that most players will want to grab immediately and for good reason. If you get separated from your squad, self-revive might be your only chance at survival. Even when you are downed with your squad, self-revive is still extremely valuable.

Simply begin the self-revive when downed but instead of letting the meter fill all the way up, have a teammate finish reviving you at the last second. The progress the meter has made will carry over to your teammate and you will still have a self-revive available for later. This can save your squad when a getting in a gunfight with another team.

5 Booby Trap Vehicles

A slightly more fun trick that many new players still don’t know about is the ability to booby trap vehicles around the map. This can be done in a number of ways but claymores and C4 are the most common. Simply mount the claymore or C4 into an unassuming spot on a helicopter, SUV, or ATV and wait for an unsuspecting enemy to make a getaway before getting blown up.

On the other hand, a trophy system will have the reverse effect, putting a protective shield around your vehicle to save you from C4 or well-placed semtex.

4 Gulag Tricks

New players will likely find themselves fighting for their lives in the gulag pretty often. This also means that players will have to spend a lot of time waiting in the area above the arena, which although boring, there are several things you can do to make it worthwhile.

The first is to use the spray paint to mark any potential opponents, in order to make them easier to see in the gulag’s poor lighting once the fight begins. If your aim is good, you can also use the rocks to take out players currently in the area by a direct hit or throwing the rocks at any claymores or explosives in the arena.

3 Indoor Cluster Strike

Cluster Strikes can be one of the less useful killstreaks as the warning the opponent gets is usually enough for them to leave the area or hide inside a building if they are camping on the roof. There is a simple trick that many have discovered that is especially useful against those pesky roof campers.

Simply sneak into the building that they are on top of and fire a cluster strike from inside. This will cause the cluster strike to hit the roof and lead the entire enemy team into a trap as you wait for them to rush inside in order to hide from the missiles.

2 Setting Changes

There are multiple different settings that players have found useful for Warzone that may not be useful in multiplayer. The main setting is changing your action button to contextual tap. This will allow you to do things like pick up weapons quicker as players won’t have to hold the action button which can save your life intense situations.

Another setting is the armor plate “apply all,” setting. This allows players to put on all their armor with a single button instead of having to hold it multiple times. Don’t worry, you can still cancel the animation if you get ambushed while putting armor on.

1 Loadouts Through Walls

Things can get plenty intense in Warzone and if your team buys you back late, it can be especially difficult to compete if you get seen by an enemy team while dropping with just a handgun. If you’re lucky enough to get a loadout drop and you’re pinned down by an enemy team, you don’t always have to put it in open space in order to get your loadout.

There are plenty of surfaces that you can get your loadout through. This is especially helpful if you are trapped in a bus after using a buy station as you can simply call the loadout drop onto the roof of the bus and get your loadout without ever exiting the safe interior.
