When it comes to shonen protagonists, Luffy is on top as one of the most inspirational and pure-hearted of them all. This protagonist is on an adventure with only three goals: make friends, amass a great pirate crew, and become king of the pirates by finding the hidden treasure called “One Piece.”

Of course, being an anime series on the same tier as Dragon Ball — if not even further — will always lead to comparisons. In the case of One Piece, it also led to a small crossover, which leads to the question: what would Luffy wish for if he were to gather all of the dragon balls?

Luffy loves few things more than he loves eating food. This makes it clear that he’d make a wish for endless amounts of food if he were to use the dragon balls.

Another thing that One Piece fans know for sure is that Luffy is a man that definitely can’t stop making friends, as he makes them no matter where he goes.

It isn’t hard to imagine Luffy simply getting the dragon balls and wishing to make even more friends or even something simple like asking for a future full of more friendships.

8 Luffy is a selfless hero & would wish To Help Whoever Is In Need

Throughout the entirety of the One Piece series, Luffy has continuously run into tons of people that are in need and somehow always ends up helping them solve all their problems.

This selfless hero cares not for a reward and just wants to help whoever needs it. He’d definitely use the dragon balls to wish to help whoever is in need of it.

7 For A Clue Whenever He Doesn’t Understand Something

While Luffy may have a great mind for adventure, he isn’t the brightest of the bunch. This hasn’t only led to some hilarious moments in the series, but some downright foolish ones as well.

Funny enough, it’s easy to imagine this leading to a hilarious wish with the dragon balls where Luffy would simply wish to understand something he just heard, wasting away a wish.

6 For No One To Tell Him Where One Piece Is

One thing that Luffy has continuously asked whenever in the face of an easy answer regarding the location of One Piece is for the information/location to remain a secret.

To Luffy, One Piece isn’t a simple treasure that everyone wants to have, but a life-changing adventure that would be ruined by simply being revealed the answer to the mystery.

5 He’d Use A Wish For Whatever His Friends Ask

Being a selfless hero and a rather simple guy, it’s very believable that Luffy would look at the dragon balls and simply state, “I don’t really have anything I need that I don’t already have.”

This would definitely get a big reaction out of his crew, and even more so when the pirate captain would turn to them and ask if they’d like to wish for anything. That’s just the kind of guy Luffy is.

4 He’d certainly wish For A Big Party For him & His Friends

Knowing that Luffy isn’t the type of guy to really ask for a wish, he’d probably get something to benefit himself and the rest of his friends, rather than wishing for something that’d benefit just himself.

A party is something that the Straw Hat pirates always enjoy so of course, Luffy would probably ask for a great party, complete with a great load of good food.

3 For Even More Adventures

One Piece is a story of adventure and Luffy is definitely a fan of adventure. Of course, he’s the type of person to simply ask for more of what he already has.

This is yet another of the most probable uses Luffy would have with the dragon balls’ wishes. Luffy would want him and his crew to find more sea-bound adventures.

2 For The Dragon Balls To Disappear

Unfortunately for everyone else, were the dragon balls to be brought together by the Straw Hats for Luffy to make a wish, no one else might ever get to wish again.

While Luffy may not be the brightest, he might just ask for them to disappear so they aren’t used for any bad deeds. This is both a good and bad wish honestly, but it’s one that Luffy would probably choose.

1 For Something Simple Like A Good Nap

Luffy is a simple person that really doesn’t have much to ask for since he already has just about everything he could wish for.

It’s easy to understand by examining the rest of his possible wishes. He really just wants the basics in life and to continue his adventure with his pirate crew. What could be better than what he already has and wishing for a good nap on the seas?
