The series, scoring 80% on Rotten Tomatoes, started in 2011 and lasted until 2017, releasing 6 seasons of werewolf goodness for its dedicated audience. The plot followed high school teenager Scott McCall as he navigated his way through school life while hiding the fact that he’s a werewolf.

And although the cast of the series has no doubt gone on to work in a diverse range of film and television, the audience has been left wanting more of their favorite supernatural creature. Although it doesn’t have great reviews, the movie came before the Twilight age of romance and supernatural creatures and is worth checking out.

The show has a similar balance between serious drama and violence and comedy that Teen Wolf has.

The main trio of vampires runs into a group of werewolves frequently throughout the movie and it causes a lot of hilarious tension. The movie has also become an FX series of the same name that follows a new group of vampires and other supernatural creatures.

Although werewolves aren’t the main focus, they still show up frequently throughout the show.

Although the series is technically all about Vampires, hence its name, werewolves do have a big part to play in all the drama and romance. Ginger Snaps is classified as horror as it is quite brutal to watch with there being many attacks and some disturbing content. It is rated 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Shadowhunters are humans with angelic blood who are tasked with hunting down demons. Werewolves are demons. But the twist of this series is that a whole new perception of Werewolves is created, and their roles in the fantasy world are given a heroic twist.

1 MOVIE: Teen Wolf (1985)

Before there was the Teen Wolf television series, there was the 1985 Teen Wolf movie starring Back To The Future’s time-traveling Michael J. Fox. Unlike most movies about werewolves, the protagonist of this movie, Scott Howard, has a hereditary curse that causes his transformation. Instead of the movie being a gory, suspense-filled thriller, it’s a cheesy classic high school cult movie about having trouble fitting in, wanting to get the girl, and being noticed by the all so important peers, all while using whatever means possible to get somewhere and be somebody.
