Who would pass up the opportunity to get away to somewhere remote, somewhere far away from the troubles of Earth, somewhere where no one can hear you scream? Yes, folks, this is a rundown of how a few movie characters would fare on one of cinema’s most hostile planets, filled with the most terrifying aliens put to the big screen.

For the purpose of this ranking, no characters from Alien will appear, and for the sake of some generosity, let’s assume the atmosphere is breathable in this case (or the list would be really small).

10 Could: Buzz Lightyear

Yes, a small living 11-inch tall piece of plastic with no need to eat/sleep/drink would be just fine on LV-426. And let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to see Buzz Lightyear actually get to explore an alien planet? Buzz would be hard to notice, due to his size, and he’s made of plastic, so it’s not like a facehugger could lay eggs in him.

The small chestburster is about his size, but they’re mostly harmless once they’re out of a chest. The only obstacle Buzz would face is if a xenomorph was wounded and bled its acid on him, but with his little play-laser, that’s not likely to happen.

9 Couldn’t: Tony Montana

Tony Montana and his grenade-launching M-16 would make for an epic last stand against the xenomorphs, but if the space marines and their similar (but upgraded) weaponry couldn’t make it for a few days, why would Tony Montana?

Sure, the ludicrous amounts of cocaine in his system would render him a bit more immune to pain (as seen in his original last stand in Scarface), but not feeling pain is not the same as not dying. It would be pretty radical to hear Tony threaten the bug-like xenomorphs. “I bury those cockroaches!”

8 Could: Lord Voldemort

Hi diddle diddle, time for a…Tom Riddle. Lord Voldemort would probably want to make LV-426 his new hangout. It’s dark, full of fog, and full of creepy creatures. Realistically, Voldemort could make some kind of magical force field and just wipe out the xenomorphs while safely tucked inside.

He could shoot at them one by one with the Killing Curse, or he could summon a crazy fire spell to knock them out. And if he was at full strength and he did die, he’d still have his Horcruxes to ensure his survival. It wouldn’t be much of a challenge for him. The real question is whether his skimpy robe is enough to keep him warm.

7 Couldn’t: Harry Potter

Neither can live while the other survives…yeah, it’s unlikely that The Boy Who Lived would be able to survive LV-426. It’s a miracle this guy beat the most powerful dark wizard, but he was only able to do so because of love. Sorry, but the power of love isn’t gonna do squat for a ton of xenomorphs.

Harry was spooked by dementors, imagine these monsters. His magic is fine enough, but it’s not to the level of Voldemort, he can’t just do incredible feats. His only hope would be for Dobby to bail him out and teleport him elsewhere, but no help is allowed for this scenario.

6 Could: Wolverine

Wolverine would be pretty annoyed with having to deal with the aliens, but he could blaze through it in what would amount to be an incredible berserker rage. With his healing factor and adamantium skeleton, he could survive just about anything, as painful as it would be to experience. The xenomorphs wouldn’t be able to hit his brain, due to his plated skull, and it’s doubtful a chestburster could even squeeze through his ribs.

There’s also the fact that Wolverine always has weapons on him, his claws, which can cut through anything. It would be a very close and personal and horrendously painful week, but Wolverine would prevail.

5 Couldn’t: Anton Chigurh

The image of Anton flipping a coin for each alien he comes across is pretty hilarious. But realistically, if he was to be under assault from the xenomorphs and fend them off with his bolt stunner and other weapons, he would probably do decently one on one, until he’d come across a swarm or the Queen.

But even then, his bolt stunner is useless against the aliens, because that’s very close-quarters combat against acid-blood creatures, and if a platoon of better armed and armored marines couldn’t make it, sorry Anton, you know what’s going to happen now.

4 Could: Sarah Connor

As cinema’s other centerpiece to Ellen Ripley, Sarah Conner would probably whoop some xenomorph butt, after years of fending off Terminators (hey, another franchise with James Cameron). Sarah Conner is used to killing the very hard to kill Terminators, so the also hard-to-kill but not as hard xenomorphs would be an easy opponent (although that acid blood seriously sucks).

Without being burdened by a whiny John Conner or another person to protect, she could go all out and look out for herself, and though her chances are not 100%, the keyword is that she could survive.

3 Couldn’t: The Man With No Name

5 Movie Characters Who Could Survive A Week On LV426 (& 5 Who Couldnt)

Where to even begin with this? The Man With No Name would be mercilessly slaughtered in this scenario. He wouldn’t last 20 minutes. He would die in his first encounter with an alien in any form, most likely.

His weapons are 1800s revolvers, shotguns, and rifles, which are completely inefficient to even break the skin of a xenomorph. He has no genuine protection, so even a plate under his poncho would do nothing. He’d probably just chomp on a cigar and accept his fate.

2 Could: John McClane

It almost seems cruel to condemn one of cinema’s biggest badasses to death while letting another live, but John McClane is a crafty guy with a bit more of an edge. He’s the master of crawling through tunnels and air ducts, so if little defenseless Newt was able to do it for a few weeks, an armed John McClane could do it for one.

Even if he did slip up and come across a xenomorph, his weaponry could actually kill one. His entire shtick in the first Die Hard was guerilla warfare and remaining unseen, so yippie-ki-yay, he’ll die another die.

1 Couldn’t: Rick Deckard

Just for fun, let’s throw in a character from another Ridley Scott sci-fi universe, Blade Runner…which, if rumor has it, could be in the same universe as Alien. Deckard has a hard enough time killing off the replicants, so he would certainly be killed by the first xenomorph he came across.

And even if Deckard was revealed to be a replicant and not a human…he would have a bit more durability, but still wouldn’t be able to make it. Look what happened to poor Bishop in Aliens! That being said, at least he’d fit in stylistically with LV-426.
