90 Day Fiancé All Times Steven Made Lame Excuses For His Bad Behavior

The Mormon man Steven Johnston from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way has done many things that make viewers dislike him, and most viewers particularly loathe the lame excuses he’s given Alina Skordanova on the show. Although the Tell-All revealed plenty of reasons for Alina to leave Steven, his list of excuses for texting nine girls despite being married was even longer. Of course, Steven tried to worm his way out of taking accountability by saying that the women had messaged him first. This was an excuse he’d used when he chatted with Alina’s Russian friend, Masha. However, there have been a lot of other instances where Steven from the 90 Day Fiancé franchise has proved that his excuses might be helping him to keep Alina in his life.

One of the earliest instances of Steven lying through his teeth to Alina was when he had booked two separate places for them to stay in Antalya. At that time, Steven claimed that he wanted Alina to remain a virgin until she got baptized before their wedding. “I just am afraid that if we’re living together we might accidentally have sex because you are very sexy,” Steven told Alina. However, Alina could see through Steven’s excuses because he had already asked her permission to date other women while they were in a long-distance relationship. Alina was convinced he wanted to stay in a hotel so he could cheat on her. “If he can’t control himself around me, how could I trust him around other girls?” Alina had asked 90 Day Fiancé cameras.

When Steven finally revealed to Alina that he wasn’t a virgin, his excuse for lying was, “I was very nervous to tell you and I’m sorry that I’m not perfect and I’m not as chaste as you are.” Interestingly, Steven had questioned Alina drinking wine before him, making her ask, “did you just slept with other girls?” The innocent, pure, religious guy that Alina had met online had turned out to be a hypocrite. “Because I have had troubles living by all the standards of the church doesn’t mean that I’m not trying to improve. That’s why I was so worried about us living in the same apartment,” he’d told Alina. “That’s why I agreed to delete my social media. I really am ready to move and leave my bachelor life behind,” Steven had claimed.

Little did Steven know that Alina had put him to the test before she even moved to Antalya, by using Masha, whom he wanted to see in America. He asked Alina’s friend to bring her swimsuit along when they met up for the first time. “We didn’t really even talk, it was like two messages,” Steven told Alina, while he continued to gaslight her for setting him up “for failure.” While they were seated at a park, Alina asked Steven to delete his social media then and there. However, Steven blamed the public wi-fi for his inability to save some old photos he’d posted online. He said he’d delete social media when they got home. Steven claimed his messages to his “girlfriends” and “close friends” weren’t “sexual or anything.” While Alina may have believed Steven then, he did send selfies with his tongue sticking out to random women online, “encouraging” them because he had “repressed urges.”

A bigger question is why Alina allowed Steven to keep his Instagram and Snapchat accounts active, after arguing that he should delete his online footprint because these platforms are where he was approached by the women who had watched him on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. In a recent post, Steven (whose IG is now set to private) claimed he “planned on deleting my Instagram but she insisted that Facebook was my problem.” However, some fans think that he’s lying. While 90DF franchise viewers believe that Steven will never change, Alina remains hopeful that their visit to a psychologist might help. Fans who have lost all sympathy for Alina are wondering if she is naïve, or just playing dumb to get another 90 Day Fiancé season.
