Some 90 Day Fiancé stars were called out for using their partners for Green Cards and cash, but several have actually proven their critics wrong.

In the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, foreign cast members are often doubted by their American partners’ friends and family, because there are suspicions that they want to get married for the sake of citizenship and money. However, some stars have proven that their number one motivation is love, rather than Green Cards and cash.
There have been many instances on the show and its spin-offs where cast members are obviously only with their partners because they want free rides to the USA and better lifestyles. Most recently, fans have revived their suspicions that Juliana Custodio is a gold digger, following her surprise breakup with Michael Jessen.
However, there are other cast members who have stuck by their partners and proven that there’s more to their relationships than “The American Dream” and dollars and cents. Franchise viewers have changed their minds about these cast members, although a few 90DF fans may still have doubts.
Yara Zaya
When Ukrainian Yara first arrived in the U.S., her desire for a glamorous lifestyle worried her fiance Jovi Dufren’s friends and family. They were concerned that Yara was with Jovi for his money and a Green Card, and would leave him as soon as she possibly could. However, the two got married and now have a daughter together. Yara shows no signs of wanting to leave Jovi. She may still have expensive tastes, but Yara’s not a gold digger.
Biniyam Shibre
Biniyam’s fiancee Ariela Weinberg isn’t overly wealthy, but the New Jersey native’s family suspected that Biniyam’s goal was to get to America and live off of Ariela’s money. However, that didn’t turn out to be the case. Biniyam actually really wanted to stay in Ethiopia, where his family lives. It was only after Ariela gave him an ultimatum that Biniyam agreed to start the K1-visa process. Biniyam has developed multiple skills, from MMA fighting to music to personal training, so he shouldn’t have any trouble making money in America.
Rose Vega
On 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Big Ed Brown’s friends and family assumed that his Filipino girlfriend Rose was only with him for his money, and a way to get her and her son Prince to the United States. Most of the show’s audience agreed. However, as soon as Ed arrived and began mistreating Rose, she didn’t stand for it and broke up with him. It was clear that she wasn’t willing to do anything for money, or else she would have put up with a lot more bad behavior from Ed.
Paola Mayfield
Paola is a 90 Day Fiancé season 1 star who was accused of being a Green Card hunter and gold digger. When she came to Oklahoma to be with her fiance Russ, his friends and family believed that because she had expensive tastes and came from a poorer country, she was with Russ for the wrong reasons. However, as time passed, their roles reversed, and Paola became the breadwinner for the family.
Anny Francisco
Viewers were shocked to find out that Anny and Robert Spring got engaged after spending only a few days together, and they were suspicious of Anny’s motives when she arrived in the U.S. Anny did a lot of complaining about Robert’s lifestyle, and wanted him to buy her fancy and expensive things. This led Robert to question whether she was using him for his money. Now, several years and two kids later, Robert and Anny are still together, and it’s definitely for love.
Many cast members come from countries and/or situations where they are struggling financially, so it’s not too surprising that their partners (and viewers) are skeptical of their motives. Although there have been some relationships where 90 Day Fiancé cast members have used their partners for one thing or another, the cast members featured here today have proven themselves. They are now considered honorable in the eyes of fans.
