So 90 Day Fiancé’s Deavan Clegg and Jihoon Lee’s breakup is common knowledge by now, but the question that still remains is – why? The super tease for 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way shows Deavan accusing her Korean husband of cheating, and is soon followed by her worried because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some TLC fans assume it was because of her having found a new Korean love Topher in Los Angeles, but is the situation for Deavan more serious than it appears? A few months ago, Deavan had openly spoken up about facing racism during her stay in South Korea.

90 Day Fiancé couple Deavan, 24, and Jihoon, 30 didn’t know what they were getting into when they matched on a dating app. Seoul, South Korea resident Jihoon flew to Layton, Utah, to meet his love, but the couple soon became parents to 1-year-old Taeyang. Since then, Deavan has moved to South Korea, twice and unsuccessfully. The second time around, Deavan tried to adjust to her new life but was visibly not making an attempt at learning Korean. It was odd since she had made a permanent move to the country but relied on a translator app which also let to several misunderstandings between her, Jihoon, and his mother Jung. In the latest episode, Jihoon’s family tried to accept the 90 Day Fiancé star and made her feel welcome during Taeyang’s 100-day party. But Deavan’s claims about going through several instances of racism in Korea, seem to have changed her resolve of relocation.

Deavan has always been one to speak her mind on social media all throughout her 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way journey. In one such instance, the model had gone LIVE on her Instagram around six months ago, where Deavan started talking about her neighbors complaining about her and her family being noisy. But in the video sourced by Reality Star Gossips, Deavan claims that the neighbors “were so nice” to her the moment they saw the cameras and saw them filming for 90 Day Fiancé. Deavan reveals that there’s a law in the country where even if one had the proof on camera that someone was being racist to them, the person complaining would be the one getting jailed for seven years basis of defamation. “I feel like if you know your city is a tourist spot, you should be nice to foreigners,” adds the reality TV star.

“My rant is I’ve just experienced a lot of ****ing racism here and I’m getting ****ing fed up with it and it’s a huge problem. Just Google it.” shares Deavan. “I don’t want to raise my kids in a society like that,” she declares but says that the older generation is comparatively nice to her. “I’m saving money. When I have money I’m gonna move straight back to America,” admits Deavan. The 90 Day Fiancé star also adds that she knows Korean and has been learning it which wasn’t shown on TV. “If I didn’t know about Korea why would I turn on international location on my dating app? My son’s Korean, so, of course, I know about Korea. We learned about Korea in high school and I live here,” Deavan replied to fan who told her she knows nothing about Korea or its culture. When someone else asked the 90 Day Fiancé celeb if she was scared about her children getting affected by the coronavirus, Deavan said, “No, I’m not scared,” in but also later added, “I’m not happy, I want to go to America really bad. I hate it here,” in conclusion.

Deavan’s statements in the video do give out the message of her not being comfortable in the country and looking for a chance to go back to the USA. And she does mention visiting America in March “for work.” Although the real reason for her separating from Jihoon and leaving South Korea could be something else entirely, Deavan’s anger at some of the people in the community is evident. But yes, the interesting thing here is that after the 90 Day Fiancé couple’s split, Deavan is now seeing a man who’s again, of Korean descent. Does this mean that Deavan’s opinion towards the country and its people has finally changed, or does she still echo her thoughts from the video?
