90 Day Fiance Lizs Restaurant Gets Backlash For Promoting Big Ed

Big Ed Brown and Liz Woods of the 90 Day Fiancé aren’t a popular couple, and after the restaurant Liz works at started using Big Ed’s image on their to-go boxes, a significant backlash could be coming from upset fans. Big Ed’s casting on season 2 of 90 Day: The Single Life made fans furious, so it should be no surprise to the restaurant that promoting their connection to Big Ed could end badly. If the restaurant was hoping to piggyback off of Big Ed’s notoriety, it should be prepared for the criticism that regularly follows him.

On The Single Life season 1, Big Ed was looking for a new relationship after his last girlfriend, Rose Vega, broke up with him on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. Ed decided to pursue Liz, his “friend” and a server at a restaurant he frequents. The couple had a tumultuous relationship both on and off the show. By the end of the season, and after a verbally abusive phone call between Ed and Liz surfaced, it seemed like the couple was done, but recently Ed and Liz got engaged. Now Ed and Liz will be appearing on The Single Life season 2, and fans aren’t happy.

The restaurant Liz works at is called Encontro, in San Diego, California, and a recent review revealed something troubling to 90 Day Fiancé fans. In the review, the patron shared pictures of their to-go boxes covered in stickers of Ed’s face. “What the F@&&!?,” the reviewer commented, adding “Thanks for making me lose my appetite!” The patron dragged Encontro for their classless move using a “Z-list celebrity face” on their takeout boxes. It’s unclear why the Big Ed stickers were on the to-go boxes or who put them there. This is the only review complaining of the stickers, so it could have been an isolated incident. However, that hasn’t stopped fans from chiming in.

Big Ed and Liz have gotten backlash from fans before, so it’s not surprising that they would criticize Encontro for associating with Ed. “That’s disturbing and pretty sad that the restaurant has stooped that low,” a commenter said on Reddit. There was a clear consensus among fans that it was a terrible idea for the restaurant to actively promote its connection to Big Ed. The once-popular cast member is now despised by many viewers, so the restaurant’s idea to increase its popularity by essentially bragging about the fact that Big Ed is a regular there was extremely misguided.

There are many ways that cast members and associated parties can profit off the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, but there are certain stars that are best avoided. Fans have called for a boycott of Big Ed before, and it’s likely that several San Diego-based fans will be avoiding Encontro in the future. Cast members like Big Ed, Angela Deem, and Lisa Hamme are extremely controversial and should probably be avoided by any companies who don’t want to face the same criticism as those divisive stars.
