90 Day Fiancé: Stephanie Says “Everyone” On The Show Is In It For Fame

90 Day Fiancé star Stephanie Matto has been accused of being on the show for clout. Now she’s saying clout is the reason “everyone” goes on the show.

90 Day Fiancé cast member Stephanie “Stepanka” Matto recently revealed that she sees the show as a business opportunity, and that “everyone” on reality TV does it for fame. Stephanie, who identifies as bisexual, appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 4 with her then-love interest Erika Owens. However, because of her lack of on-screen chemistry with Erika during their season, fans criticized Stephanie in the past for pretending to be bisexual to get on the show.

The Czech-born New Yorker is currently starring in 90 Day: The Single Life season 2, where she is dating both men and women. She has also been making headlines recently because of her claims to have been engaged to popular 90 Day Fiancé YouTuber Your Wet Sock, as well as her new online business selling her farts in a jar to fans. Her business has gotten her mentions in international news outlets, including The Daily Show.

Stephanie recently went live on Instagram with celebrity publicist Domenick Nati, where she revealed that although she and Erika did have feelings for each other, their relationship wasn’t serious. “Was it an opportunity? Yes, just like it is for everyone,” Stephanie admitted, claiming that “nobody” appears on any reality show “for fun.” She explained that both she and Erika applied for the show with “business intentions,” and that they both profited, “especially” Erika. Domenick asked if they went into it mostly to be on TV and help their careers. Laughing, Stephanie said that made her and Erika sound “sh**ty,” but admitted that there was some accuracy to the statement.

The 90 Day: The Single Life star also said that nobody goes on 90 Day Fiancé because they want to “share their love story with the world and get torn apart by the minions of Reddit.” She said the cast members are “supposed to seize the opportunity.” Using “Big” Ed Brown as an example, Stephanie said some people are able to make lots of money after their appearance on the show. “Does that make [Big Ed’s] relationships on the show less real? That’s to be decided,” she said as she and Dom shared a laugh. One fan in the comments disagreed with her, saying not all couples use the show for an opportunity. They said that Kyle and Noon Huckabee from 90 Day Fiancé season 3 were “real,” as were Anna and Mursel Campisi from 90 Day Fiancé season 7.

Stephanie is correct in that many, if not most, 90 Day Fiancé stars have gone on to become successful social media influencers after their appearance on the show. Many franchise cast members are able to be highly successful on platforms such as Instagram, OnlyFans, and Cameo, either during their stint on the show or when the season is over. However, not all franchise cast members choose that route, and go back to being relatively anonymous when their season ends.
