With excitement continuing to rise ahead of the Friends reunion episode later this year, we’ve been looking through the archives. To this day, it remains an unparalleled sitcom, one that not just enchanted America, but also gained a following from many countries around the world.

The comedy was what always made it so special, with body parts often used for comedic purposes. Let’s take a look at 10 scenes involving them that still make fans laugh all these years later.

10 Chandler’s Third Nipple

While most people are born with two nipples, Chandler was actually born with three, and it’s something he’s hugely embarrassed about—which makes Monica’s decision to tell the rest of the group about it all the more hilarious.

Chandler comes up with the affectionate name of ‘nubbin,’ but the gang doesn’t let him live it down. It also emerges that he was a bed-wetter as a child, with Monica spilling the beans after he’d told Phoebe about her having sex with Fun Bobby on the balcony. That’s definitely ruthless from Courtney Cox’s character, and, if we were Mr. Bing, we wouldn’t be too happy about it…

9 Ross’ Thing

In season three, Ross Gellar is torn. Afflicted with a mysterious skin condition on his backside, he seeks advice from Joey and Chandler, but neither of the duo is able to get to the bottom of things. Joey even hilariously suggests that it’s so unique it could be called ‘the Ross’ in tribute to him.

That’s amusing, but it’s nothing compared to when he actually goes to an expert, Phoebe’s herbalist Guru Saj. Guru labels it a ‘Koondis’—showing his ineptitude in the process—and ends up actually removing it by accident via his watch. Ross doesn’t seem too bothered, though, and seems delighted once the ailment is gone.

8 Fat Monica

Monica is gorgeous when we first see her in Friends, but the character was actually rather large during high school, and we get to see Courtney Cox enlarged for the first time in the episode The One That Could Have Been, Part 1 where we get a glimpse into an alternative reality.

It’s hilarious looking at Cox while she’s wearing a bodysuit, adding plenty of weight to her in the process. She looks genuinely amused herself, and it’s clear that it’s uncomfortable, with the character waddling around Central Perk looking pained.

7 Rachel’s Nose

In season four, there’s a flashback episode named The One With The Prom Video. The whole episode focuses on how Ross loved Rachel from a young age, but the most comedic aspect, as well as Monica’s bigger frame, is Rachel’s nose.

Jennifer Anniston’s character got a nose job after high school, and, while we don’t think it looks that bad, it’s clearly drastically different. It’s definitely fun seeing a character as spoiled and entitled as Rachel in her youth, and now we know where some of her insecurities may come from.

6 Ross’ Teeth

Determined to impress a date in season six, Ross decides to get his teeth whitened. However, he’s left feeling extremely embarrassed and self-conscious when he goes way too bright, with his friends all mocking him as a result.

The date goes well enough, with Ross able to keep his mouth shut and portray himself as an excellent listener. Hilariously, though, the truth comes out and his date, named Hilary, is horrified by his teeth after they’re shown via a black light. Another funny touch is how he then proceeds to criticize her and defend himself, but this backfires too. It’s safe to say they didn’t see each other again.

5 Phoebe’s Cleavage

After uncovering the truth about Monica and Chandler, Phoebe is determined for the pair to come clean. In order to do this and to help coax the truth out of Matthew Perry’s character, she attempts to seduce him in his apartment, all while Monica is in the next room.

This means she uses her cleavage. telling Chandler to unhook her bra. In the end, though, he can’t go through with it and, after the most awkward of kisses, confesses his love for Monica. Usually, she’d be fuming at having lost a game of cat and mouse, but, so touching are his words, she’s willing to look past it.

4 Joey’s Foreskin

In season seven, Joey is thrilled when he’s asked to be in a big movie about a man who falls in love with a Jewish woman. Unfortunately for him, his excitement soon turns to nervousness when he learns that the director wants things to be “authentic,” meaning he’d need foreskin for the role.

The director says he wants someone who is “anatomically not Jewish.” Joey, having been circumcised as a child, then enlists the help of Monica for her to fashion something up. Comedically, he ends up wearing a make-shift one… which falls off right in front of the casting lady and the director. Embarrassed is an understatement…

3 Ross’ Hand Breaks

In season nine, Ross learns that Joey has proposed to Rachel—albeit by accident—shortly after the birth of baby Emma. Wracked with guilt, Joey allows his friend to punch him in the face, but, in a moment that made us gasp in shock the first time around, the actor ducks, and Ross ends up thumping a lamppost instead.

It’s hilarious, particularly when Joey had agreed to take the punch. What also makes it amusing is how the actor then attempts to pin things on Ross and smacks him by testing out his reflexes. It’s actually a miracle that Matt LeBlanc’s character is able to earn the forgiveness he craves given how much of a nuisance he is.

2 Joey’s Lipstick

Before he made it as a soap opera star, Joey Tribbiani did some rather unusual bits of television, and perhaps the most random of the lot is his advertisement for Ichiban, a bright blue male lipstick.

He wants Chandler to watch the footage, but he doesn’t, so, when he grills his friend, he doesn’t get the reaction he was hoping for. Chandler and Rachel, who is also present, are both lost for words as to how bad it looks. The solace Joey can take from it, however, is that he was paid a lot and it only aired in Japan. Still, though, we can’t see it being popular, even over there.

1 Monica’s Hair

Monica makes this list again; how could we possibly forget about her shocking haircut in season 10?

She actually gets it done in the last episode of season nine, having her hair braided to avoid it frizzing up because of the Barbados humidity. It looks awful, and Chandler’s reaction, as ever, is golden. She only agrees to get it back to normal in New York after she gets it caught in a shower curtain where Chandler finds her looking sheepish—and that, honestly, is for the best.
