Legends of Tomorrow Season 7 New Characters & Returning Cast Guide

The cast of Legends of Tomorrow season 7 will feature a number of familiar faces, with most of the last season’s core characters returning. However, some of the actors will be playing new characters. The new season will also see the return of some former Legends as special guest stars in the series’ 100th episode.

The grand finale of Legends of Tomorrow season 6 was bittersweet and triumphant in equal measure. The team successfully saved the Earth from an alien invasion and reunited Esperanza “Spooner” Cruz with her missing mother. However, the team also parted ways with their longtime ally John Constantine, who left the team rather than face them again after he betrayed them in a bid to restore his lost magical powers.

As Legends of Tomorrow season 7 opens, the Legends are still trapped in Odessa, Texas in the year 1925, following the destruction of their timeship, the Waverider, at the hands of another timeship. Struggling to get by and without access to the advanced technology they’ve come to depend on, the Legends’ survival efforts attract the attention of FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, leading team leaders Sara Lance and Ava Sharpe to take up a career as bank robbers to throw the Feds off of the trail of their allies. Where this will lead is anyone’s guess, but with the Legends involved it is sure to be chaotic.

Adam Tsekhman as Gary Green: A former agent of the Time Bureau (who was secretly part of the Necrian alien race), Gary Green was the Legends’ biggest fanboy before he became John Constantine’s apprentice and officially joined the team. Making up in enthusiasm what he lacks in confidence, Gary is a wealth of trivia regarding magic lore and alien culture. A prolific television and video game voice actor, Adam Teskhman has voiced characters in multiple Call of Duty games and Metal Gear Solid V.

Shayan Sobhian as Behrad Tarazi: An aspiring chef, who has mastered baking even outside the arena of edibles, Behrad Tarazi also shares the honor of wielding the twin Air Totems of Zambesi with his sisters. Shayan Sobhian previously played James in The Chosen.

Lisseth Chavez as Esperanza “Spooner” Cruz: The newest recruit to the Legends, Esperanza Cruz (Spooner to her friends) is a hard-drinking, straight-shooting Texas gal who loves guns and hates aliens. Possessing a mysterious sixth sense that allowed her to sense the presence of aliens and understand their languages, Spooner was revealed to have a connection to the mystic Fountain of Imperium in the finale of Legends of Tomorrow season 6. It remains to be seen if she’ll retain her powers in Legends of Tomorrow season 7. Lisseth Chavez also played Ximena Sinfuego in The Fosters and Vanessa Rojas in Chicago PD.

Nick Zano as Dr. Nate Heywood/Steel: Originally a hemophiliac history professor who suffered in the shadow of his military-minded father, Nate Heywood was forged into something stronger when he joined the Legends and gained the power to transform into living metal. Sadly, despite his heroic heart and a brief stint fighting crime with Team Flash in Central City, Steel has yet to earn an invitation into the Arrowverse Justice League. Nick Zano has previously played Preston Hillingsbrook in 90210 and Drew Pragin in Melrose Place.

Legends of Tomorrow Season 7 New Cast & Guest Stars

Amy Louise Pemberton as Gideon: As the artificial intelligence who runs the higher functions of the Waverider, Gideon is an essential member of the Legends, though she is often overlooked. Legends of Tomorrow season 7 will see Gideon taking on a more active role on the team, somehow acquiring a physical body. Amy Louise Pemberton has provided the voice of Gideon since Legends of Tomorrow season 1 and made several on-screen appearances as Gideon in various dream sequences and alternate realities. Pemberton has also played multiple roles in the series Suspense and lends her voice to Penny in Fortnite.

Matt Ryan as Dr. Gwyn Davies: Star of the short-lived Constantine series, Matt Ryan continued to play John Constantine elsewhere in the Arrowverse. While Ryan was reportedly forced to retire as John Constantine (due to the character rights being reserved for the upcoming Constantine reboot on HBO Max) he will be returning in Legends of Tomorrow season 7 as Dr. Gwyn Davies, a Welsh scientist who will assist the Legends. Matt Ryan previously appeared as Mick Rawson in Criminal Minds and played Richard Pace in The Tudors.

Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heatwave: An unrepentant pyromaniac and career criminal with a side-gig writing sci-fi erotica under the pen name Rebecca Silver, Mick Rory ended Legends of Tomorrow season 6 flying off into the sunset with the alien warrior woman of his dreams and their 48 babies. Despite reports that he was leaving Legends of Tomorrow, Dominic Purcell will be returning throughout season 7 as a special guest star. Outside of playing Mick Rory, Purcell is perhaps best known for playing Lincoln ‘Linc’ Burrows in both series of Prison Break.

Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold: A cool customer in every definition of the word, Leonard Snart was the last person anyone would have labeled a hero. Despite this, Snart sacrificed himself to free the world from the grip of the Time Masters and earned that title in Legends of Tomorrow’s season 1 finale. Most often recognized as Michael Scofield in Prison Break, Wentworth Miller will be reprising his role as Captain Cold in the 100th episode of Legends of Tomorrow.
