A Frasier reunion special or reboot might be in the works. Kelsey Grammer reprised his role as Dr. Frasier Crane, who originally appeared in the behemoth 80s sitcom Cheers, in the 1993 pilot episode of Frasier, which dropped on NBC and to air for eleven seasons, until the finale in 2004. The spinoff garnered critical and commercial success, developed a devoted fan following, and won 37 Emmy Awards during its run. Whispers of a revival first surfaced in 2019, projecting a potential 2020 premiere.

Actress Peri Gilpin, who played Roz, spoke to Metro News on the possibility of a Frasier special or revival. The interview came on the heels of a cast reunion over Zoom in April 2020 to raise money for COVID-19 relief through the Actor’s Fund, featuring Kelsey Grammer, David Hyde Pierce, Peri Gilpin, Jan Leeves, and Dan Butler. She reflected on chatting with the cast sixteen years after the finale and spoke about her current comedy on the air, Old Guy. Though neither NBC or the actors have made official announcements, Gilpin sounded pretty convinced. “[A reunion] is possible. Definitely. There is a lot of talk about it. I do think there’s something going on, but I don’t know exactly what it is or whether it will actually happen,” the actress teased.

Kelsey Grammer starred as Frasier Crane, who returns to his hometown Seattle after the disintegration of his marriage and life in Boston. The cast includes Jane Leeves as Daphne Moon, live-in housekeeper to the doctor and physiotherapist, David Hyde Pierce as Frasier’s brother, Niles Crane, and Peri Gilpin as Roz Doyle, the producer of Frasier’s radio show. John Maloney co-starred as Martin Crane, father to Frasier and Niles and form police detective, unfortunately, won’t be a part of any reunion, as the actor passed away in 2018.

It’s unsure whether the series would come back for additional seasons, for a one-off scripted special, as is in the works for Parks and Recreation, or a cast reunion of Friends scheduled for HBO Max. Speculation of its nature aside, it seems undeniable that there is some form of Frasier reunion on the books, and its only a matter of time.
