Batman: Arkham Knight features 19 different DLC suits for Batman taken from the character’s movies, TV shows, comic book runs and other Arkham games.

Batman: Arkham Knight features the largest amount of costumes out of any game in the Batman: Arkham series, with a majority of the Arkham Knight costumes being available for purchase through downloadable content added after the game was released. Batman is one of the most recognizable superheroes in the genre, using the symbolism of bats to embody justice and strike fear into the hearts of his foes. Batman has also gone through a number of different cosmetic changes over the years, with many different takes on the iconic outfit.

Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham series provided an incredible run of stories centered around the Caped Crusader and his rogue gallery of villains, allowing players to live out their fantasy of beating the pulp out of thugs as Batman and saving the day from Joker’s nefarious plans. The series culminated in a climactic ending with Arkham Knight, putting Batman against Scarecrow in his efforts to rally classic villains together and destroy Batman once and for all. Along with a brilliant story and the best graphics in the entire series, Arkham Knight’s costumes feature the most alternate Batman suits out of any of the other games.

When looking at Batman suits that can be obtained through simply playing through Arkham Knight, the game only features four unique suits designed specifically for the title. Outside of the four Arkham Knight costumes players get by playing the campaign, Rocksteady included 19 different DLC skins that range across all of the different movies, TV shows, and comic book storylines that Batman has been involved with over the years. All of the DLC Arkham Knight costumes included for the crime-fighting (and crime-committing) Batman pull from Batman’s extensive media history. Players can equip a number of the iconic movie costumes like Michael Keaton’s black-and-yellow suit from 1989’s Batman and Ben Affleck’s imposing suit from Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, or they can lean more towards Batman’s TV iterations with the Classic TV Series suit worn by Adam West or the Batman Beyond suit from the animated series of the same name. Batman’s comic book lineage is displayed in the DLC suits as well, ranging from the 1st Appearance Batman Skin based on the character’s original look in 1939, the Flashpoint suit worn by Thomas Wayne in that particular comic run, and the Justice League 3000 suit worn by a clone of Bruce Wayne throughout that series.

Rocksteady even included homages to other Batman suits seen across the Arkham series in the Arkham Knight costumes on display, bringing back the distinct suits from Arkham Origins and Arkham Asylum. None of the DLC outfits featured in Batman: Arkham Knight offer any kind of advantage to Batman in combat, serving only as cosmetic changes to the character that can be accessed after purchasing the specific DLC associated with the skin. It’s a completely different approach to cosmetics from games like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which allows players to unlock new suits simply by progressing through the game and finding them throughout the environment.

Thankfully, Rocksteady made all of the Arkham Knight costume DLC relatively cheap to keep players from having to pay egregious amounts of money for any individual skin. A typical DLC suit only costs about $0.99 cents to purchase, while suits featured in bundles like the 1989 Movie Batman Skin usually costs about $1.99. There are even some like the Arkham Original Batman Skin that are free for all players, meaning some individuals don’t have to pay a dime for their favorite skins. With no Batman: Arkham sequels planned from Rocksteady at the moment, Batman: Arkham Knight stands as the studio’s greatest effort to honor Batman’s legacy through all of the different DLC skins included with the game, letting players embody the popular superhero in a number of unique ways.
