Animal Crossing How to Get a Wet Suit For Swimming

Summer has come to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and so has a new feature: swimming! Exploration of the island’s parameter stopped at the beaches, where players may have already found the special summer seashells, but this new feature will allow them to explore beyond these boundaries and into the open ocean.

Of course, nobody can go swimming without a wet suit! Unless you want to get your fancy 5,000 bell outfit wet. Even then, the player is unable to dive into the waters without wearing a wetsuit to begin with. This guide will look at where to find these wet suits, so players can get swimming and dive for sea life as soon as possible!

Obtaining a Wet Suit in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The very first thing the player must do is update their copy of New Horizons. Players won’t need to input anything to do so, as the game will detect any update on its own. Of course, this is only if the player is connected to the internet. Make sure that the Switch system has a proper net connection, or else the summer update won’t download. After the loading is taken care of, wet suits will be added to the player’s game!

Next, players are able to buy a wet suit! One might first go to the Able Sister’s clothing store, as that’s where outfits are purchased. However, the wet suit is actually bought at the Nook’s Cranny. It’s not on display outside but is found in the cabinet where the tools and gardening supplies are. Wet Suits cost a mere 3,000 bells, which can easily be obtained by striking the daily bell rock enough times. Nook’s Cranny does not need to be upgraded to obtain it, so players who have just started can pick up their wet suit from the get-go. These wet suits also come in a variety of patterns and styles, so check-in daily to find the right one for you! Once paid for, players just need to equip the wet suit as they would any other clothing item, and they’re ready to dive!

There is another method to obtain a wet suit, and it’s through the Nook. Hop into resident services and use the Nook Stop terminal on the right. The wet suit will be under the ‘Redeem Nook Miles’ section, alongside the other signature Nook Brand items and clothing. It costs 800 Nook Miles to purchase, which isn’t much unless they’ve all been spent purchasing island tour tickets trying to find a specific villager. Unlike the wet suits bought at Nook’s Cranny, these wet suits must be mailed to the player’s mailbox and arrive the next day. So if exploring the new waves is the top priority, the one in the store should do thanks to its immediate access.
