Animal Crossing New Horizons Terraforming Waterfalls (Design Tips & Tricks)

Animal Crossing: New Horizons lets players change the locations of bodies of water on their island by using terraforming. This guide will provide helpful tips and tricks when designing waterfalls on the island. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players are allowed to customize every aspect of their island, from the location of their home and their neighbor’s homes to the specific location for a set of trees or bushes. The entire premise of the game is the build the player’s very own tropical vacation from the ground up. In the beginning, the player is given nothing more than there imagination to begin exploring their island. Locations are even cut off in the game until the player has unlocked certain tools to open up new areas. By using the vaulting pole item, players are able to cross rivers without needing a bridge. The ladder also comes along later, allowing the player to climb up the side of cliffs. The number of customization options increases the more annually the player comes back and explores what the island has to offer. One major feature that comes along towards the “endgame” (Animal Crossing: New Horizons technically has an end credit sequence but the game continues regardless). The ability is terraforming and it adds the biggest addition to island customization. With terraforming, the player can craft waterfalls around their island in whatever location that desire. Designing with Waterfalls and Terraforming in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Islands in Animal Crossing: New Horizons are broken up into three major altitude locations. The bottom consists of the ground level, being on the same level at the beach. The next is the second level when waterfalls can begin to trickle over into the lower level. The third is the highest, allowing the player to get creative in where they want their water to fall into. The neat thing about waterfalls in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the ability to have them stack on top of each other. Since the game has three different levels the player can reach, players can actually place waterfalls on top of one another, making it extremely high up and appealing to the eye of many Animal Crossing. It is recommended to try this out by placing 4 water holes near where the player wants the waterfall to go. To place a waterfall, stand near one of the ledges and it will automatically place one. Players may want to have a location with high waterfalls to build a tranquil scene or have somewhere they can relax and do yoga. The possibilities are endless in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

If the player has their house on the lower levels, placing a waterfall nearby with a small body of water like a local lake or river will truly paint a scene of serenity for their home. Waterfalls are also excellent for creating small obstacle courses on the island. Players can invite our friends from distant lands to come and participate in a course they create all on their own. Since the game is absent of a jump button, players can jump over small gaps by leaning on them and their character will automatically jump across the river or gasp. Waterfalls, for the most appealing look, should be the same dimensions wide as bridges. Matching the bridge and the waterfall length is the perfect opportunity for the player to set up chairs and take photos with friends. Players can also customize their furniture using the dye to change it blue, matching the color of the crashing water.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons give the power to the player and lets them go insane with what they can accomplish. Building cliffs and waterfalls are what truly make islands stand out from their first initial debut. The island does come along with several levels to explore at the beginning, gaining the ability to change these landscapes allows players to do whatever their heart desires. Ponds are pleasant locations where fish can spawn and players can put flowers around the rim of the pond. The game also continues to gain support from Nintendo by releasing monthly and seasonal updates as the year goes by. A recent Easter event occurred in the game for the month of April and Nintendo is planning a Wedding Season event for the entire month of June, where players can participate in helping married couples take their ideal wedding photos. As more seasons come around in the real world, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will continue to have its own spin on these merry events.
