Animal Crossing Villagers Players Are Sick Of By Now

There are around 400 villagers to encounter in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, so it might seem difficult to run into the same one an excessive amount of times. However, thanks to either fan discussions or simply game mechanics, there are a few villagers that have overstayed their welcome in the eyes of many New Horizons players. Here are some Animal Crossing villagers that fans are probably just tired of seeing.

Objectively speaking, the odds are about the same when it comes to villager encounters in New Horizons. While the game does have a tendency to prioritize personality types that are missing from the island – for example, a player without any Jock villagers will be more likely to run into Jocks on island tours – beyond that there’s about an even chance of encountering a more desirable villager such as Marshall compared to a less popular one like Moose.

Of course, there are some exceptions. The start of New Horizons pairs players up with both a Sisterly and a Jock villager, meaning these characters will seem much easier to encounter, especially for players who have restarted their island multiple times. Other villagers just feel more common thanks to their prominence in New Horizons’ online communities. Regardless of the reasoning, there are a handful of villagers who many players are likely sick of by now.

Raymond Is Animal Crossing’s Most Overrated Villager

Animal Crossing Villagers Players Are Sick Of By Now

Raymond took the Animal Crossing community by storm when New Horizons was released, and has regularly been one of the most popular Animal Crossing villagers in the year that followed. Players are willing to pay almost ridiculous amounts of Bells or Nook Mile Tickets on Animal Crossing’s online villager black market just to get Raymond onto their island, and he still appears regularly in New Horizons fan content.

His personality is controversial, however, due to the fact that Raymond is a smug villager who has a tendency to rub people the wrong way. Additionally, many New Horizons fans consider him overhyped. His attire and house décor are both relatively uninteresting to the point that some players may not understand why he’s as beloved as he is, or why his popularity has lasted so long.

Animal Crossing’s Barold Is Both Controversial And Creepy

Barold seems to exist on the opposite end of the scale as Raymond, almost-universally disliked rather than adored due to both his appearance and the theming of his house. Barold’s home features walls of security monitors, which seems to imply that he’s spying on the other villagers of the island. It’s little surprise that some New Horizons players are tired of running into him as a result.

Despite this, though, his personality is standard for a Lazy villager, which has led to some players feeling as though the broader Animal Crossing community’s hatred of Barold is overstated. Whether fans are arguing in the defense of the character or simply discussing ugly or unpopular Animal Crossing villagers, Barold is almost always on the list, and the controversy surrounding him is almost as drawn out as Raymond’s popularity.

Rocket Is Too Common In Animal Crossing New Horizons

Rocket has the potential to be one of the starting villagers in New Horizons, which already means she’s more easily encountered than less common personality types. As a Sisterly villager, her personality is more inoffensive than Smug or Cranky villagers might be, but it’s her appearance that seems to make her so widely disliked.

Gorillas are arguably one of the least popular species of villager in Animal Crossing, and on top of that, Rocket’s bright pink racing outfit and lipstick give her a bold style that clashes with many fans’ preferences. Compared to other villagers who are commonly considered ugly like Barold, Rocket is more commonly discussed if only due to the fact that she appears so frequently in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
