New information on Apex Legends Season 9 content has been released by the director himself, hyping up fans to expect some Titanfall content in the 9th season of Apex Legends. This is big news for Respawn Entertainment fans, who have been eagerly awaiting more Titanfall content in the Battle Royale ever since the two games were confirmed to be in the same shared universe.

Titanfall is Respawn Entertainment’s main IP, comprising two main titles. The game is a first-person shooter, where players control pilots who can either run around shooting or call on the power of a large mechanical titan to control on the battlefield. Titanfall 2 introduced a story mode to the game, where the universe and its lore were first explored. From here, the Titanfall universe has expanded out, to the point that it encompasses Respawn’s beloved hero-oriented battle royale, Apex Legends, as well.

As reported in a tweet by Apex Legends News, the battle royale’s game director, Chad Grenier, has apparently released even more information about the planned content to be included in the 9th Season of Apex Legends. It seems that Season 9 will be the big Titanfall content release that Respawn Entertainment fans have been waiting for, as Grenier has promised “a ton of Titanfall content coming.” Details remain scarce; Grenier did not offer any information about what kind of content would be involved. Most notably, he did not confirm that actual, physical titans would be present in the game.

In Season 9, “you’re going to see a ton of Titanfall coming into [Apex] in one way or another. If you’re a Titanfall fan, hang on for Season 9.” — Chad Grenier, Game Director. pic.twitter.com/cxfWWI7ws7

While Apex Legends Season 8 still feels fairly fresh, having only released back in February of 2021, it seems some of the development team is looking towards the next big content update on the game’s roadmap. While season 8 introduced Fuse, season 9 might be bringing the long-awaited character Blisk to the game. Blisk was the main villain in the single player campaign of Titanfall 2, and many fans have speculated that the villain would someday be introduced to the Apex Legends roster based on his role in the history of the battle royale.

Season 9 of Apex Legends has been teased for some time now, with other small bites of information periodically released to tantalize fans. Back in March, Grenier released a teaser online, stating that Japanese fans of the Battle Royale would be very excited with what Season 9 has in store. This was during a talk with Famistu, where the Game Director was discussing the Nintendo Switch port of Apex Legends. This hint has led fans to suspect that there will be some kind of Japanese theme to the season, whether it is skins, a new character, a new map or even just the events itself. The new season of Apex Legends will start on May 4, with major release updates still to come. The official patch notes for Season 9 and the trailer will be released much closer to the date, but for now, Titanfall fans will have to make do with what little information the team at Respawn Entertainment has been kind enough to announce.
