Apex Legends launched back in 2019, and ever since then, Wraith has been one of the best Legends in the Battle Royale. Due to Wraith’s powerful set of abilities, she is a popular pick for a number of different team compositions. Despite her effectiveness in battle, some players still believe that her abilities could be improved.

Described as an interdimensional skirmisher, Wraith has the power to jump between dimensions during a fight. While Respawn has nerfed the Legend several times since launch, she still has an effective set of abilities that players can utilize in battle. Her Tactical, Into the Void, allows her to flank enemies without taking damage for a short duration of time, while her Ultimate, Dimensional Rift, gives her the opportunity to reposition teammates by using a portal. While these abilities make Wraith great for both offensive and defensive scenarios, some players think that the developers are missing out on an opportunity to make her Passive, Voices from the Void, more impactful in fights.

Recently, one Twitter user known as ThatOneApexBot came up with an idea for buffing Wraith’s Passive ability. Currently, Voices from the Void alerts Wraith players through a voice line when enemies are targeting them. However, the Twitter user believes that the ability is mostly useless, as the audible alert fails to give visual feedback as to the direction of the enemy. They suggested that Respawn should add some type of flash in the corner of the screen from the direction where the off-screen enemy is targeting the player.

ThatOneApexBot received the inspiration for the potential buff from a gameplay mechanic in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Known as High Alert, this perk from the military shooter gives players better awareness on the battlefield. When High Alert is active, a yellow outline appears on the player’s screen once an opponent beyond their field of view targets them.

It would be interesting to see this perk adapted for Apex Legends, as it would give Wraith players much more information in regards to the direction an enemy team might be attacking. Furthermore, Seer, the newest Legend in the game, already has a similar ability. His Passive, Heart Seeker, provides a visual indicator when aiming down sights that corresponds to the off-screen location of enemy movement and gunfire.

It will be interesting to see if this buff for Wraith eventually makes it into the game. Respawn is no stranger to listening to fan suggestions, as they regularly make balance changes to the Battle Royale. Recently, the developers announced news regarding a new patch coming to the game that looks to buff the defensive Legend Rampart as well as nerf the daredevil Octane. As such, it will be interesting to see if they take inspiration from this suggestion.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
