The series is nearing its 20th season, and over the years, there have been many cringeworthy moments. The Bachelor takes the trophy in terms of cringe scenes. Viewers may remember when Juan Pablo Galavis called one of the girls. Kylie Lewis misheard and thought that she was the one being called. However, The Bachelorette gets an honorable mention. These types of mistakes have happened more than once.

Katie’s season is going to be filled with sex positivity, and it’s safe to say that there will be a few contestants who will veer off into the cringe zone. It is a matter of how not when. Cringeworthy moments are a part of the franchise. Love it or hate it, The Bachelorette is filled with drama, whether a viewer is swooning over a romantic onscreen moment or waiting for an awkward moment to pass.

Kasey Kahl Gets A Tattoo Dedicated To Ali Fedotowsky

So, Ali Fedotowsky, who is now married to Kevin Manno, had a great season with a cringe moment or two. One of her suitors, Kasey Kahl, wanted to be with her. He also wanted to prove to her that he would protect and love her. Therefore, he decided that the best thing would be to get a tattoo dedicated to Ali and their love story. Suffice to say that Ali was shocked. She’d known him for less than a month! Also, Kasey sang all the time.

DeMario Jackson’s Girlfriend Appears On The Show

Some The Bachelorette suitors bring romantic complications, and DeMario Jackson is a prime example. DeMario had an ex-girlfriend who showed up and revealed that the two never actually broke up. Rachel Lindsay told DeMario that his story made no sense and promptly sent him home. She said, “I’m not here to be played, I’m not here to be made a joke of, which is what I feel like you’re doing right now.” Rachel was not having any nonsense during her season. However, the drama did not end there. DeMario returned and tried to get Rachel back, but he didn’t succeed.

Nick Viall Confronts Andi Dorfman

Nick did not end up winning the heart of The Bachelorette lead Andi Dorfman, who has said she’d pick Chris Soules in a redo. When it was time for After The Final Rose, he was still visibly upset about it. While Chris Harrison asked them questions about their journey, Nick was building up to ask Andi a very important question. Nick finally got the confidence to ask her why she “made love” with him during the fantasy suite if she was not in love with him. This was an awkward moment that led to Andi telling him that it was not the place to ask that question.

The Bachelorette & Soulja Boy Music Video

Soulja Boy guest-starred on Desiree Hartsock’s season of The Bachelorette, and this was simply too cringeworthy for words. One of the group dates required the men and Desiree to shoot a rap music video. While it was apparent that they were having fun, the awkward dance moves, the throwing of money, and Desiree’s rap verse (with lines like, “last time you saw me I was crying in a limo.”) were embarrassing. Yes, everyone got an A+ for effort. However, overall, this was one of the moments in The Bachelorette history that should be stored away and forgotten. Also, this video comes off as very insensitive to hip-hop culture. It was criticized for possible cultural appropriation.

Clare And Dale’s Whirlwind Romance

Clare Crawley and Dale Moss’s romance was adorable, but it did have a cringe factor because of how quickly the two fell in love. While it was evident they both had strong feelings for each other, viewers were a bit surprised at how hard Clare fell for him. Clare even kept a pair of Dale’s pants and sniffed them. However, the most cringe part was when Chris Harrison asked them what was next on After The Final Rose and Clare shouted “babies.” Dale looked visibly uncomfortable. The couple ended up breaking up after the show, but they have since gotten back together and are even living together.

The Time When There Were Two Bachelorettes

Whoever came up with this idea needs to be fired. Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nielson were forced to compete against each other, and it was awkward to watch them stand there, waiting to see who the men would choose. The votes were tallied, and, in the end, Kaitlyn was chosen. Producers will do anything for ratings, but this was a low blow.

The Tickle Monster

Rachel Lindsay’s season was filled with plenty of cringe moments, but this one was perhaps the weirdest. While the first night is for making a lasting impression, not all unforgettable impressions are good. Jonathan, as known as the Tickle Monster, stepped out of the limo, looking suave. He asked Rachel to put her hands out and close her eyes. While viewers expected him to give Rachel a present of some sort, Jonathan went a different route. He tickled her sides, and although she laughed it off, it was a very odd moment.

The Bachelorette Roast

This could have been a lighthearted The Bachelorette date, but let’s be honest… when are roasts ever fun or light-hearted? These guys went in hard on Ashley Hebert. They made crude jokes about how flat her chest was. Also, one of the contestants played into her insecurity that the guys were only there for fame and not for her. He said, “I thought I signed up to be with Emily or Chantal, but then Ashley is here.” Ashley ended up walking off the stage crying. That was cringe and awkward.
