This is an odd fact that does not make any sense in retrospect. While Maika is 4’9 in the anime, she is 5’1 in the manga. She is made shorter in the anime while she is a bit taller in the manga.

She is the only character whose height changed between the two adaptions, although a lot of the girls in Blend S look super short.

As Maika wanted a part-time job to study abroad, her hobbies mostly consist of learning about foreign countries. She also adores Dino, the manager of Café Stile, because he has blond hair and blue eyes like a foreigner.

Maika may have been born in Japan, but she is in love with foreign culture through and through. While learning about Japanese history when she was young, she suddenly gave up on it and said she was bored.

She then developed a strong affection for Western culture as well as Santa Claus and Kernel Sanders.

2 Her Love For Foreign Countries Makes Her Adore Santa Claus

Maika’s love of foreign culture makes her quite obsessed with certain aspects. Maika has admitted to loving Santa Claus as well as “the man from the chicken place.” This man from the chicken place happens to be Kernel Sanders from KFC, which is noted in anime as being one aspect of Christmas.
