Earlier today, Gearbox Studios announced on the official Borderlands 3 website that it would be releasing a hotfix for Borderlands 3 that corrects various in-game issues, as well as re-optimizing the online matchmaking. In addition, Gearbox is also releasing an exclusive New Year’s Eve event that will run from Tuesday, December 31st to Monday, January 16th.
Borderlands 3 is the most recent addition to the Borderlands franchise. Fans of the series had waited a solid five years for Gearbox Studios to release a new installment to the main series and since its release back in September of 2019, it has not failed to disappoint. With a new DLC campaign releasing today, Borderlands 3 has shown no signs of slowing down.
Since its release, Gearbox has been releasing periodic patch notes outlining changes and adjustments they have made to the main game based on player feedback. This newest hotfix that Gearbox has released goes over what changes the developer has made and the issues that players ran into while playing the game, such as not having enemies spawn in when the objective “Kill Traitors” is active during the “Porta Prison” mission. Gearbox also made it so that when players enter into the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite mode, the game will not begin until a full party of four people enters the lobby.
Along with these new patch notes, Gearbox also announced a special New Year’s Eve event that will take start on December 31st, 2019 and will end on January 16th, 2020. This is an exclusive, one-time event that will end after January 16th of next year. Gearbox Studios is very good at giving players active content well after the release of Borderlands 3 by way of Shift codes for Golden Keys and other side content.
Borderlands 3 has given players so much in terms of additional content outside of the main game. Gearbox Studios is a company that is incredibly active with regards to its fan base. Following the release of Borderlands 3 back in September, Gearbox has made several changes based on fan feedback over the course of the last several months. Not to mention the fact that the issue of inventory management that players have had ever since the release of the first Borderlands game back in 2009, is finally being addressed.
That being said, Borderlands 3 is an incredibly large game with a large variety and scale of content for players to enjoy. For a game that large, there is bound to be issues that the developers let slip through the cracks. To this day, Borderlands 3 still suffers when in local split screen gameplay and after three months, players have grown rather aggravated. But given the fact that Gearbox has actively listened to numerous fan complaints regarding the game, hopefully, the split screen gameplay will be fixed fairly soon.
Borderlands 3 is out now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
