The show Boy Meets World focused on Cory Matthews as he changed from a boy into a man. Along with his best friend Shawn, and his girlfriend Topanga, they experienced the highs and lows of the world together. While Shawn never had an easy life, he had solid relationships with Cory and his family.

Meanwhile, Cory had a more easy-going lifestyle. He did not have to worry about things the same way Shawn had to. As the show progressed, it broadened to also focus on Topanga, Eric, and other friends as well. When the series ended, while some characters got an ending that was fitting to them, others deserved more.

10 Fitting: Cory Matthews

Cory Matthews was confused about life from his first moment on screen. At first, he was a young boy who wanted to hang out with his best friend and cause trouble, even though he was a kind kid at heart. However, as he grew up, Cory matured. After getting together with Topanga, Cory fell in love with the concept of an everlasting love.

While falling deeply in love was part of his journey, so was understanding that love doesn’t always last. Sometimes, people grow apart, and as much as it hurts, it is not always salvageable. However, that would not stop Cory from loving Topanga with everything he had and would not let anything stop him from having the future with her that he knew they would have.

9 Deserved More: Jack Hunter

Jack joined the show at the beginning of its fifth season as Shawn’s half brother. While it took some time for Shawn and Jack to warm up to each other, Jack also had a close friendship with Eric. However, when Rachel McGuire was included in the series, part of Jack’s storyline was devoted to fighting Eric for Rachel’s attention. In the series finale, Jack decided to go into the Peace Corps with Rachel.

Unfortunately, Jack does not continue to have solid relationships with his friends. Girl Meets World revealed that after going away to join the Peace Corps, Jack had eventually left and lost contact with several of his friends. He may have lost touch with Shawn as well, but that is never referenced either.

8 Fitting: Topanga Lawrence

Topanga was always meant for big things. Even in the early days of the show, it was clear that Topanga had a bright future ahead of her. Therefore, it was no surprise that Topanga would excel in high school and would go on to excel in college.

Topanga had a way with people and quickly got a well-paying job shortly after her marriage to Cory. Later, Topanga was offered the chance to continue her pursuit of a law degree. Topanga’s choice to move uproots Topanga, Cory, Shawn, and Eric from their life in Pennsylvania to see what awaits them in New York.

7 Deserved More: Rachel McGuire

Rachel had strong relationships with Eric and Jack. While she eventually becomes close with the rest of the gang, her two male roommates are her initial close friends. However, since Rachel met them after they had fallen into a rhythm, she admitted to feeling like an outsider in their group. “The War” emphasized Rachel’s feelings as someone that did not feel like she was on the inside.

Rachel noted that everyone else has a direct bond (life-long friends, husband-wife, boyfriend-girlfriend, brothers) that she does not have with any of them. While they do work it out, it is unclear how long she continued to stay in contact with anyone other than Eric.

6 Fitting: Shawn Hunter

Shawn did not have a happy upbringing. Between his shaky relationship with his father and his mother leaving, Shawn heavily relied on Cory to be his family, something Cory was delighted to be. While Shawn did get bursts of happiness throughout the series, he mostly has angst in his storylines. Although Shawn’s relationship with Angela could have developed, Angela left to join her father, leaving Shawn alone. Shawn continued his journey with his friends to New York.

While it may not have been a happy ending, it fitted for his character at the time. Luckily, fans got to see Shawn get a happier ending in Girl Meets World, where he happily married Katy Hart and became a father figure to her daughter, Maya.

5 Deserved More: John Turner

The last time Johnathan Turner was seen on Boy Meets World, he was lying in a hospital bed, unconscious from a motorcycle crash. As he lies in bed, Shawn speaks to Turner, telling him that Shawn needs him, and he has to wake up.

However, Turner never appears in Boy Meets World again. Stewart Minkus briefly mentions him regarding having been in a different part of the school. Shawn never discussed speaking with Turner after the accident. Since Turner had been a father figure to Shawn, it was odd that Shawn had not mentioned Turner again. Luckily, Turner’s fate was revealed in Girl Meets World when he appears alive and as the Superintendent of Schools.

4 Fitting: Eric Matthews

Eric was never sure of precisely what he wanted to do with his life. Therefore, Eric moving to New York with his friends with an unlimited number of possibilities suited him most. Eric did not have a job set up for when he got there, and never mentioned going back to school for any reason.

However, Eric did not have a reason to stick around his hometown anymore, and moving on seemed to be his best option. In Girl Meets World, Eric’s fate is revealed. He became Mayor of St. Upid Town and was later elected Senator.

3 Deserved More: Angela Moore

Boy Meets World 5 Characters Who Got Fitting Endings (& 5 Who Deserved More)

Just like Shawn, Angela was a victim of hardship. Her mother had left, and Angela only had her military father to rely on. While Angela did not keep her relationship with Shawn, she also did not stay in touch with anyone else. There is no reference to Angela talking on the phone or sending letters and emails to her friends. Instead, she leaves, never looks back, and is not heard from again until “Girl Meets Hurricane.”

Angela appears in Girl Meets World to ask Shawn’s opinion about Angela being a mother. Their interaction, along with her and Cory’s, make it seem as if they had not seen or spoken to each other since college. Even after an episode devoted to proving why they should all stick together, many of them went separate ways.

2 Fitting: George Feeny

Boy Meets World 5 Characters Who Got Fitting Endings (& 5 Who Deserved More)

Mr. Feeny was Cory, Shawn, and Topanga’s teacher from sixth grade to college. He had a way of making everything make sense and comparing it to history. Mr. Feeny may have been the main person everyone went to for advice. For the most part, Mr. Feeny acted as a guide to the younger characters, helping them make their way through life.

It made sense that Mr. Feeny’s ending would include giving Cory, Topanga, Shawn, and Eric one last piece of advice before they went out to explore the world. He would have a lasting impression on Cory, Topanga, Shawn, and Eric.

1 Deserved More: Morgan Matthews

Boy Meets World 5 Characters Who Got Fitting Endings (& 5 Who Deserved More)

Morgan never had the same amount of screen time as the rest of her family. She ended up being more of a background character than at the forefront, especially when the age gap between her and Cory started to show itself. Morgan deserved the chance to be more involved in the show, especially for someone who was supposed to be a main character.

Given that at the end of the series, Morgan was around the age as Cory was at the start of the show, it could have been interesting to see what direction Morgan looked to be heading.
