Warning! SPOILERS for Canada’s Drag Race season 2 episode 8 below!

As the Top 5 queens of the season, Adriana, Gia Metric, Icesis Couture, Kendall Gender, and Pythia were tasked with a makeover challenge on Canada’s Drag Race season 2 episode 8. Last week, Kimora Amour was unfortunately eliminated from Canada’s Drag Race. For this week’s makeover challenge, the five remaining queens were asked to get a group of LGBTQ2S+ high school teenagers ready to attend the queerest prom ever. As the winner of last week’s challenge, Kendall was responsible for pairing up the teens and queens.

Kendall paired everyone up in an extremely polite way, which Brooke Lynn Hytes referred to as being “so Canadian.” For one, Kendall and her mentee literally looked very alike, and so did Gia and her partner. Icesis and her partner, as well as Pythia and her partner, were instant kindred spirits who seemed like they had been friends for years prior to Canada’s Drag Race. Last but not least, Adriana’s mentee for this challenge was all about serving body, which would theoretically work perfectly with Adriana’s aesthetic.

The episode then moved on to the teens getting a runway lesson from Canada’s Drag Race judge Brooke Lynn Hytes. These workshops featured on Drag Race can feel a bit pointless at times, but Brooke did actually provide a lot of great tips for the teens to excel in this challenge. As the queens got their partners ready, there were a lot of important conversations about young LGBTQ2S+ people facing bullying and discrimination in high school. Given that the core audience of RuPaul’s Drag Race is younger people, it is very helpful for the show to feature these stories about overcoming obstacles.

Icesis Couture and Ruby Couture walked the runway with Cher-inspired outfits that symbolized fire and ice. Kendall Gender and Stormi Gender fully leaned into the Keeping Up With The Kardashian fantasy as they played up a version of Kris Jenner being a momager to one of her daughters. Adriana and Bella Donna were all about pink and metallics, with both of them looking stunning. Pythia and Apollo were the perfect representation of two gender-neutral goth kids literally on their way to prom. Gia and Electric Metric had an interesting concept, but there wasn’t that much family resemblance with them.

In the end, the Canada’s Drag Race judges determined that Pythia won this makeover challenge. Gia Metric and Kendall Gender were deemed safe, which meant that Adriana and Icesis Couture fell into the bottom two. After lip syncing to “Everybody Say Love” by Mitsou, Icesis was asked to stay and Adriana was told to sashay away.
