DC Gives New Look At Future Justice League

DC Comics has given a closer look at the newest Justice League squad. In the upcoming Future State event, the Justice League will feature newer characters taking on the roles of classic DC characters. In a new preview for the upcoming Future State: Justice League, readers get a closer look at the heroes.

The newest era of the Justice League will be a stark departure from the current team, at least one it comes to secret identities. The Future State team, which features a new Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, and Superman, will all hide their secret identities from one another. The series will begin with one of their closest allies getting murdered at the Hall of Justice. The new preview for the second issue suggests there’s also an impostor on the team.

So, who are the new heroes of the Justice League? The new Superman will be Jon Kent, the son of Kal-El and Lois Lane, who’s currently Superboy in DC’s mainstream continuity. The new Wonder Woman is a brand-new character named Yara Flor, a Brazillian hero born in the Amazon. The future Green Lantern will see Far Sector’s Jo Mullein get a promotion to the main team. The new Flash is a non-binary speedster named Jess Chambers from Earth-11. Aquaman’s daughter Andy Curry will take on the role of Aquawoman. Meanwhile, Batman’s true identity is unknown, although it’s been suggested that he’s actually Luke Fox, son of Lucius Fox. Check out a team shot of the new Justice League from Kael Ngu’s cover of Future State Justice League #2, as well as a solicit from the series’ second issue.
