Phineas and Ferb was an animated Disney Channel show that followed two brilliant step-brothers that decide something exciting to do every day of their summer vacation. The delightful and uplifting Disney series always involves a new invention Phineas and Ferb put together in a day.
The other typical plots are their older sister Candace trying to bust them and their secret agent platypus, Perry, who constantly thwarts the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz among the numerous musical numbers. There are several characters of all ages in the show from friends of Phineas and Ferb to friends of Candance and their parents. There is a wide range of intelligence in the characters of the show from ignorant and clueless to inventive and brilliant.
10 Buford van Stomm
Buford is Danville’s resident bully, but he is also friends with Phineas and Ferb and the rest of the neighborhood gang. He’s not particularly smart or gifted in a specific area of learning like other characters on the show, but he’s shown that he does care about his group of friends even if he doesn’t always show it. He’s usually the muscle or nontechnical part of the summer vacation plans.
9 Candace Flynn
Candace has laser focus on two specific aspects of her life: busting her brothers Phineas and Ferb for their summer vacation hijinks and cute boys, specifically Jeremy Johnson. Candace tries her best, but her plans for catching her brothers never changes and she constantly fails. She also exaggerates her relationship issues with Jeremy and tends to create problems where there were none.
8 Stacy Hirano
Stacy is Candace’s best friend and is pretty similar to Candace especially when cute boys are involved. Stacy has a better approach to relationships with boys and is calmer and more realistic about the idea of a relationship whereas Candace makes everything into a much bigger issue than it actually is. Stacy also differs from Candace as she’s had better ideas about how to catch Phineas and Ferb and bust them, instead of the same tired plan that Candace tries again and again.
7 Linda Flynn-Fletcher
Linda is Candace and Phineas’s mother on the Disney Channel original series who slowly has a backstory of her own built throughout the show. She enjoys antiques as her and her husband Lawrence frequent conventions and their antique store has been shown a few times and her past career as a teen rockstar is also referenced throughout the series.
Candace is constantly trying to get her mother to see what Phineas and Ferb are doing so she can successfully bust them, but it hilariously never works as the inventions disappear right before Linda can see them.
6 Baljeet Tjinder
Baljeet is a math and science focused perfectionist student that does well in school and thrives in the learning environment. He’s good friends with Phineas and Ferb and is constantly bullied by Buford, but the two also seem to be friends. Baljeet is brilliant in his chosen fields of study, but beyond that, he doesn’t have much skill, and Phineas and Ferb are more apt in the math and science area as well.
5 Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz
Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz is an evil villainous scientist in the animated series and the main nemesis of Perry the Platypus. He usually comes up with outrageous schemes to fix some personal issues he has and instead of an easy fix he makes the entire plan more complicated than it needs to be. Although his inventions do work, he is always thwarted by Perry and usually has a part in his own failure.
4 Isabella Garcia-Shapiro
Isabella is Phineas and Ferb’s neighbor and is a reoccurring character on the show as she joins the two on their adventures. She is quick in assisting them in their endeavors and is a skilled and highly intelligent Fireside Girl who is always prepared for any situation. She has brilliant leadership skills and is usually successful whether she is helping her friends or earning a new Fireside Girl patch.
3 Ferb Fletcher
Ferb is almost equally as brilliant as his step-brother Phineas, but he comes in just behind him regarding their intelligence. Ferb is undoubtedly excellent in executing the inventions after Phineas figures out what they’re going to do that day of the summer.
Ferb is quiet and stoic while Phineas does all the talking, but it’s undeniable how brilliant Ferb is as he quickly builds and brings to life each invention Phineas and he wants to work on and has a knack for adaptability.
2 Phineas Flynn
Phineas is typically the idea man and capable of execution when he and Ferb come up with what they’re going to do each day of summer. Phineas comes up with the plan and helps Ferb execute their idea bringing to life a brilliant invention within the day. Both Phineas and Ferb are brilliant inventors and have creative prowess, but Phineas barely edges out Ferb as he is the one that typically comes up with their initial ideas.
1 Perry The Platypus
Perry the Platypus is the most intelligent character of the series because he has everyone fooled and always bests his foe. Phineas and Ferb, along with every other character, have no idea of Perry’s double life as a secret agent and hilariously no one recognizes him with his hat on and his foe Dr. Doofenshmirtz doesn’t recognize him without it on. He sneaks away from Phineas and Ferb every day and is always successful in his mission to stop the evil scientist.
