Dungeons & Dragons Tiamat Figure Towers Over Adventurers & Soda Cans

One of the most powerful villains in the history of Dungeons & Dragons will soon have the chance to terrorize parties in the flesh, as a massive figure of Tiamat is coming this year, and it towers over standard minis. In D&D, there are two types of true dragons, with Chromatic dragons being evil and Metallic dragons being good.

The god of the Metallic dragons is Bahamut, whose physical form is a platinum dragon. The goddess of the Chromatic dragons is Tiamat, who has five heads, each representing one of the colors of her kind. Tiamat had a major role in the original Dungeons & Dragons cartoon, where she was one of the most powerful beings in the setting where the show took place. Both Bahamut and Tiamat have worshipers among mortals, which means that they often appear in adventures. Tiamat’s followers had a major role in one of the Tyranny of Dragons campaign, as it features the Cult of the Dragon trying to bring her into the Forgotten Realms.

The DMs who are willing to pay to elicit terror in their players now have a chance to do so. WizKids is taking pre-orders for a Tiamat figure that is due to be released in September. The figure is 14 inches tall and has a wingspan of 28 inches, meaning that it will tower over standard minis. A picture on the official WizKids website demonstrates its size next to a soda can, which it also dwarfs.

DMs will be paying a lot to inflict the fear of the dragon goddess on their players, as the Tiamat figure costs $399.99. As such, it might be better used as a display item. Tiamat is one of the most iconic villains in D&D, and this massive figure would be one of the most impressive items in any mini collection. WizKids has other massive dragon figures at a lower cost that can be just as terrifying to players, such as the Chardalyn Dragon from Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden.

The avatar of Tiamat is one of the most powerful creatures in D&D and it’s likely to be the last thing most parties see. If the DM whips out a giant Tiamat figure and puts it on the table, then at least the party can die in style, before they face the wrath of five different breath weapon attacks.
