Olivia Jade is excited that she’s beginning to show Dancing With The Stars viewers another side of her personality and prove her strong work ethic while competing on the ABC show. Olivia was a popular YouTube personality with over a million subscribers. Though her following gave her many opportunities, such as partnering with major brands like Sephora, Olivia truly became a household name when her parents, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, pleaded guilty to charges of bribing their daughter’s way into the University of Southern California in early 2019. Lori spent two months behind bars and was released in December. Mossimo, on the other hand, was allowed to serve the final days of his five-month sentence under house arrest last April.

Since then, Olivia has started to make her return to the public eye, reappearing on social media in January and breaking her silence on the scandal last year as a guest on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook Watch series, Red Table Talk. Now, Olivia is officially making her public return by competing on Dancing With The Stars alongside professional dancer, Val Chmerkovskiy. The duo performed the salsa to Lizzo’s hit track, “Juice,” on last week’s opening night episode. Olivia appeared confident on the dance floor, and she and Val received an impressive score of 25/40 for their first performance. Shortly after Olivia and Val exited the ballroom floor, Val told Screen Rant he believes Olivia has “earned” her way to the ABC stage.

A few days later, Olivia and Val talked to E! News while preparing for the September 27 show. The young star isn’t allowing anything to stop her from becoming a dancing queen. “You should have seen her at the dress rehearsal,” Val said. “She had one of the craziest wardrobe malfunctions and she kept going.” Though he didn’t go into too much detail as to what happened earlier in the day, he did praise Olivia for her dedication to the competition. “There are a few things when she showed up to rehearsal, I questioned the pretty face, but the hard work has always been there, very consistently.” As for Olivia’s part, she feels like this journey will show viewers that she actually has a very “strong work ethic.” Olivia knows this is a tough year of competition, but she hopes, regardless of the outcome, that she can reintroduce herself to the world and show everyone her authentic personality.

Furthermore, Olivia hopes her parents will be able to attend a live taping of Dancing With The Stars. “I would love for them to come,” Olivia said. “They have really taken over dog duty for me. They have been really great dog grandparents at the moment, but hopefully if I stick around, they’ll come to a show. I want to make them proud.” Last week, Olivia was encouraged by her older sister, Isabella, supporting her in the audience for premiere night. Olivia mentioned that Isabella is her best friend, so her support meant “everything” to her and made her feel more comfortable once the music was about to play. The YouTube personality also noted that while they haven’t discussed strategy much, Isabella did advise her to breathe to rid the nerves.

It’s clear that Olivia isn’t trying to pull a pity party by asking for another chance to gain America’s respect on the hit ABC show. Still, it’s up to viewers if they want to give her that opportunity. Nonetheless, this is a great opportunity to further discuss the crimes her family committed and show America how her family is working to learn and grow. Dancing With The Stars has its first elimination this week, so viewers will see if her fans also believe she deserves that second chance.
