Dynasty The Characters Ranked By Likability

The modern CW’s reboot of Dynasty is full of unique and gaudy personalities that make up a big part of the show’s enjoyability. Of course, there are the antagonists and the protagonists, but a character’s appeal depends on their likability in addition to their role and morals — especially because most of Dynasty’s characters, from Blake to Alexis, aren’t all that morally relatable or acceptable.

Regardless of which side of the morality coin they fall, this show offers many iconic and unforgettable characters, which could be thanks to their style, like Fallon, attitude, like Kirby, mannerism, humor, and the list goes on. That’s probably why the Carrington family, with all its drama and chaos, hooks the viewer in week after week.

10 Dominque

Dynasty The Characters Ranked By Likability

Dominique Deveraux might be the most annoying character of the show; she’s certainly the least likable. She’s always doing the same thing, which is sabotaging people for her own benefit or even just for fun, whether it’s her children, her brother, relatives, ex-husbands, nieces, nephews. Her vexing habits include talking too much, spying, and causing trouble. It’s hard to recall a scene in which Dominique was likable or relatable — or even remarkable — in any way.

9 Blake

Sure, Blake Carrington is self-absorbed and selfish, but this isn’t necessarily because he’s a bad person. Alas, he might be the most annoying character of the show. He’s static, as he shows signs of improvement but then remains the same person who commits the same mistakes throughout all of the show’s three seasons. His jokes sometimes are funny, but he’s often offensive or just simply boring. Hopefully, season 4 brings more character development for him — or at least a better personality.

8 Anders

Joseph Anders is the comical relief of the show — at least initially, in the first season. He’s not an utterly rotten or static character, but besides the fact that his storylines are almost never fully explored, he has always just been a “spy,” somewhat nosy and judgmental.

His gut instinct is often correct, but he devotes his life to the wrong people. He does have the potential to become more appealing, though.

7 Cristal Jennings

Dynasty The Characters Ranked By Likability

“The second” Cristal (cit. Fallon Carrington) started amazingly and ended up being almost as awful as her maybe-soon-to-be ex-husband, Blake. Maybe partially because the Carringtons “infected” her — living surrounded by drama and even dangerous relatives that continuously have plans to hurt each other probably played a big role in this escalation of her personality — but she seems to be grumpy and secretive all the time. She has been through a lot with the loss of her baby, so it’s evident why she’s more closed-off than when viewers first met her.

6 Cristal Flores

Cristal Flores, also known as Celia Machado has a very appealing personality: she always stands up for herself, had good hearts and morals, and she can be also extremely sassy, like in her frequent quarrels with Fallon. Even the latter used to hate her but then grew fond of her: Cristal’s extrovert personality and integrity make her stand out.

5 Kirby

Dynasty The Characters Ranked By Likability

Kirby Anders is one of the most relatable and appealing characters of the show. She’s funny, a good friend, and her personality is strong and charming.

Unlike her father, Joseph, Kirby overcomes most of the other characters in terms of likability, thanks to her toughness, lively spirit, and, at times, sassiness — which might also explain why she and Fallon make a good duo on the show.

4 Fallon

Dynasty The Characters Ranked By Likability

Fallon might be a hard character to love, as she’s often quite chaotic, but she’s an easy one to like. She’s ambitious, determined, and direct. Her humor, jokes, and insults are unforgettable. Fans might not always agree with what she does or what she says, but she’s dynamic, her scenes are remarkable, and her presence always adds to the show. She might be too mean sometimes, but her personality makes up for it.

3 Steven

Dynasty The Characters Ranked By Likability

Steven is one of the less annoying and evil characters to be on the show. He makes mistakes and his choices might sometimes be questionable, but he is the first Carrington to realize how toxic their lives can be. He’s all about breaking the cycle and doing better.

He is always a kind and enjoyable presence on the show, and he made for some of the most moving and remarkable scenes in the first two seasons.

2 Liam

Dynasty The Characters Ranked By Likability

Liam Ridley is one of the most rational characters of the show. He is comprehensive, available, honest, and determinate. Even when things seem like they might escalate with his fiancée, Fallon, he always does the right thing and is supportive and caring. He rarely causes any trouble and is basically the opposite of Dominique Deveraux. One of the most likable characters for sure.

1 Sam

Sammy Jo is definitely the most likable character of the show. He is relatable, hilarious, sassy, good-hearted, and totally unique. He never aims to ruin people’s lives or take advantage of them, unlike almost everyone else in Dynasty. He’s kind, friendly, and has a good relationship with most of the characters. His presence always brings fun — like when he’s paired with Fallon or Kirby — and emotion, particularly in his moving relationship with Steven.
