EA Play Comes To Xbox Game Pass On PC Tomorrow

Tomorrow, March 18, the EA Play subscription service will become available to Xbox Game Pass members on PC at no extra cost. The two services on PC were originally meant to merge late last year; however, a last minute delay postponed EA’s and Microsoft’s plans to 2021 for still unspecified reasons.

Such a union is nothing if not a steal for Game Pass subscribers. The regular service already boasts a robust library of games, which ranges from numerous heavy-hitters in Microsoft’s first-party stable to well-known AAA and indie titles. As a whole, Xbox Game Pass continues to increase in value. This especially holds true given the recent influx of Bethesda Softworks-published adventures that Xbox added to the lineup. Electronic Arts’ EA Play catalogue isn’t anything to scoff at, either. Some of the publisher’s most notable releases in recent memory are currently available on the service, including Madden NFL 21; meanwhile, Star Wars Squadrons will arrive this month.

On March 18 at 2:00pm PST, EA Play will become available to all Xbox Game Pass and Ultimate subscribers on PC for free, according to an Xbox Wire post. This union guarantees that Windows 10 users can take advantage of every benefit EA Play has to offer, which includes the service’s slate of 60-plus games, monthly in-game rewards, discounts on EA digital purchases through the EA Desktop app beta, and 10-hour free trials on new releases. Game Pass’ PC users can begin their EA Play membership by downloading the EA Desktop app. Upon either signing into an an EA account or creating a new one, the service will prompt players to link their EA and Xbox accounts. The Xbox app should then walk users through the rest of the setup process.

Again, the value of this deal between EA and Microsoft cannot be understated. Millions of Xbox gamers are already enjoying the union of the services, too, since Game Pass Ultimate added EA Play for free last fall. In addition to the likes of EA’s many sports titles, EA Play also gives subscribers access to experiences such as Titanfall 2, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Need for Speed Heat, and Battlefield V.

Xbox Game Pass’ growth hasn’t slowed since its launch in 2017. In fact, at last count back in January, the service had accumulated a whopping 18 million subscribers. Those numbers are bound to surge throughout 2021, given Microsoft’s recently finalized Bethesda acquisition and this year’s release of the eagerly-anticipated Halo Infinite.
