Here’s every Cowboy Bebop Funko Pop! figure fans of the cult series can buy. Cowboy Bebop is – alongside Neon Genesis Evangelion – one of the defining anime shows of the 1990s. The story follows a crew of bounty hunters in the year 2071, including Spike Spiegel, Faye Valentine, Jet Black, and Ed. The show could effortlessly blend action, drama, comedy, horror, and any number of genres and it also featured a fantastic soundtrack.

The show came to an end after 26 episodes, though it later spawned an anime movie called Cowboy Bebop: Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door in 2001. There was also talk of Keanu Reeves (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum) playing Spike in a live-action movie adaptation back in 2008 but after years of development, the project was eventually cancelled. Netflix is currently working on a live-action series instead, which will star John Cho (Star Trek Beyond) as Spike and Daniella Pineda as Faye.

A date has yet to be confirmed for the Cowboy Bebop live-action series, though it likely won’t arrive until 2020 at the earliest, and is expected to consist of ten episodes. The show will hopefully introduce a new generation to the anime, and fans who want to collect the entire crew of the Bebop in Funko Pop! form are in luck.

Jet Black & Vicious Funko Pop!

Jet is easily the most level-headed of the Cowboy Bebop team, though he does have a dark past of his own, as evidenced by his robotic arm.

Vicious is the main antagonist of the series and acts as something of a violent mirror to Spike. His Funko Pop! toy is somehow able to accurately recreate his creepy scowl and he comes with his trademark sword.

Ed & Ein Funko Pops!

Edward is the resident computer genius of Cowboy Bebop, in addition to proving some comic relief. There are two Funko Pop! figures available for Ed, with one finding her in a smiling pose with Ein, the show’s Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

While the Cowboy Bebop show had some slick action setpieces, it also featured some great character work too. Everybody on the ship had a history they’re haunted by in some form, and the series wasn’t afraid to go dark when it came to playing out character arcs. The finale of the series is a good example of this, with the inevitable showdown between Spike and former friend Vicious ending on a solemn note.

This balancing of tones is one of the reasons Cowboy Bebop is remembered so fondly today, and while it’s doubtful the anime will receive another series, the forthcoming live-action version on Netflix will hopefully provide a fun reinvention. If nothing else it will be fun to see the crew reunited again, while the Funko Pop! figures also providing collectors with funky recreations of the Bebop’s crew.
