Every Marvels Midnight Suns Villain Confirmed So Far

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is an upcoming superhero game, recently announced as part of Gamescom 2021’s Opening Night Live. The game’s reveal trailer showcased familiar heroes from across Marvel franchises, including the Avengers’ Captain America and Dr. Strange, X-Men’s Wolverine and Magik, Runaways’ Nico and Midnight Sons’ Ghost Rider and Blade. Amidst the hero reveals, however, fans got a sneak peek into the dynamic villains driving the conflict.

The game takes heavy inspiration from the Midnight Sons comic series that ran in the early ’90s. The comics follow a group of supernaturally inclined heroes, spearheaded by the likes of Ghost Rider and Blade, in their efforts to defeat the demonic forces that threaten the world. Like the comics, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is set to take players into the darker side of the Marvel universe.

IGN premiered a gameplay trailer on September 1 that gave insights into Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ central conflict. In addition to teasing how combat in the game will work, it showed the forces of the underworld have come forth to fulfill an old prophecy called Midnight Sun, foretelling the end of the world. While the trailers have shown action-packed fights with evil creatures, three stand out as notable villains for Marvel’s Midnight Suns.

Who Marvel’s Midnight Suns Main Villains Are

Lilith, in Marvel’s Midnight Suns, is the mother of all demons. She has been asleep for centuries, now revived in order to bring about the end of the world. She’s also hellbent on raising her evil master Chthon, who in the comics is the God of Chaos and responsible for giving Scarlet Witch her chaos magic. It’s unclear at this point if Lilith will be successful in her endeavor; unless Chthon returns, it’s likely Lilith will be Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ final boss. According to the trailer, she has only been defeated once before by the Hunter, leading the Midnight Suns to resurrect the hero.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns players will also have to contend with the Lilin, described in the gameplay trailer as Lilith’s minion horde who will do her bidding with unbridled ferocity. In the comics, Lilin are Lilith’s four most devoted children. Though the trailer doesn’t explicitly state as much, footage shows at least three creatures who could serve in that capacity and likely act as mini-bosses throughout Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ story.

A familiar Marvel villainous organization has also reared its head in Marvel’s Midnight Suns. Hydra is responsible for raising Lilith, using a combination of dark magic and science. The clip shown in the trailer shows a strange glowing green orb shooting out powerful bolts that disintegrate soldiers on impact, showing Hydra may have awakened a force they can’t control. A stone etching of Chthon also bears striking resemblance to the Hydra emblem, implying a connection between the two entities and teasing fascinating lore for Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
