Bethesda Game Studios confirms over Twitter that the next major title update for Fallout 4 includes support for the recently released PlayStation 4 Pro console.

Things are starting to look up for the PlayStation 4 version of Fallout 4 after a bout of controversy these past couple of months. While mods have become very popular on the Xbox One and PC versions of the game, it looked like the PlayStation version would be left out when Bethesda revealed that mod support would not be coming to Sony’s console. After some back and forth, Bethesda was able to finally add in mod support the way it wanted and now the game is being updated to support the recently released PS4 Pro as well.

While Bethesda previously confirmed that PS4 Pro support would be coming to Fallout 4, fans have continued to wonder when that may happen – especially considering that the new console launched earlier this month. The developer finally let the news out in a tweet from the official Bethesda Game Studios account, which confirmed that the game is finally going to be taking advantage of the newly added console power in the next major title update.

Unfortunately no other details have been released regarding the upcoming patch. Players could be waiting anywhere from a week to perhaps even longer as no time frame was given either. The studio has previously hinted that enhanced graphics and improved lighting would be included, and unlike The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, Fallout 4 will not natively render at 4K resolution.

With Skyrim: Special Edition out in the wild and now Fallout 4 getting what many consider to be the final major update, Bethesda can turn its attention back to what lies ahead. Though the studio tends to hold its cards closely to its chest, fans are well aware that two unnannounced games are currently in development and are completely separate from the next game in the long running Elder Scrolls series.

While there were a few issues at launch, the newly released PlayStation 4 Pro console has already seen a lot of success. In the UK alone the console has tripled PS4 sales figures, so it should be interesting to see if Microsoft continues its recent trend of outselling the PS4 when the November figures are released next month. Sales are no doubt helped in part by many popular games releasing updates to make them forward compatible with the new console even though some titles like The Witcher 3 have decided against making the jump.

For PS4 Pro owners, are you excited to see what the game looks like running with the new specs? Let us know what you’re thinking in the comments below.
