Fallout 76 Best (& Most Fun) Hidden Side Quests

Fallout 76 is a game filled with ghouls, monsters, and irradiated wildlife. The Fallout franchise is known for its expansive list of clever side quests, and it’s sixth installment is no different.

Released on November 4, 2018, by Bethesda Softworks, former vault-dwellers can traverse the dangerous and toxic West Virginia landscape 25 years after a nuclear war. Even though the cities are less crowded, the gaps have been filled with terrifying creatures based on cryptids and local wildlife. While exploring the open world, players encounter side quests hidden throughout the game, triggered by reaching a location, speaking to NPC’s, or interacting with an object. As this is the first game in the series to include online multiplayer capabilities, grab a friend to tackle some of the more difficult side quests in this list.

Fallout 76: Thrill Of The Grill

Fallout 76 Best (& Most Fun) Hidden Side Quests

The Thrill of the Grill is a daily quest that can be activated by talking to the robot cook at Hemlock Holes. Hunt down some Radstags, and maybe Yao Guai and Deathclaws too, to put some meat on the grill. But wait! A cookout isn’t complete without the side dishes. Scavenge for some “tatos”, corn, and carrots to grill up as well. Once the grill is lit, nab that cooking recipe for yourself.

At the Palace of the Winding Path, grab some friends and light the Brazier of Transcendence to kick off this not-so-peaceful meditation session. While playing with others isn’t required, strength in numbers may come in handy to defend the four meditation hubs in the area from the enemies attracted to them. Fight against the clock to defend and repair the hubs, and collect a Zen Mastery Level for your troubles.

Go to Harpers Ferry, access a terminal, and choose Missing Hunting Party to unlock this quest. Talk to a bot named Hardball to learn more about the missing people. Follow Hardball’s advice and acquire a signal booster in the Ferry, or in Valley Galleria’s electronic store. Find a nearby helipad to summon a cargobot, and attach the signal booster to it. Then, follow the distress beacon it picks up. Collect holotapes and a hazmat suit from the unlucky corpses in the area to get into the sewers, and find out what happened to the hunting party.

Fallout 76: Motherlode

Enter the Hornwright Industrial Headquarters from either entrance to start this corporate quest. In Yvette Wiesman’s office, access the terminal and read her messages to get more information. Traverse the toxic environment to search offices, and submit a resume to print an ID card. Now that you’re an executive employee, go to the executive floor using the elevator. Then, repair and launch the beacon to access the motherlode.

Fallout 76: Mistaken Identity

Another daily quest, Mistaken Identity starts when you approach Camden Park. Collect an employee uniform and clock in to calibrate three run-down attractions by trying them yourself. At the end of your long shift, talk to the boss to complete the quest and redeem the tokens you’ve earned for loot.
