GTA Trilogy Soundtrack Every Song Missing From San Andreas Radio Stations

GTA: San Andreas took the series back to the west coast in 3D, and its soundtrack reflected the early 90s imitations of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. In the new Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, the visual aspect of San Andreas’ aesthetic has been given a facelift across the board, but some of its soundtrack was left behind. The list of songs in the GTA Trilogy soundtracks are still extensive, but San Andreas is missing a handful of tracks that were a part of its original release in 2004.

Most of the soundtrack is intact, and the GTA Trilogy version of San Andreas still boasts more than 100 songs across 10 radio stations. That’s actually quite a bit more than are in either of the GTA 3 or Vice City remasters. Unfortunately, more songs actually returning also means that San Andreas lost more tracks than its trilogy partners in its transition to this new remaster. The incomplete soundtracks are likely contributing, at least in part, to the negative early GTA Trilogy impressions, but some of the licensing issues were likely out of Rockstar’s hands.

There are plenty of artists (or whoever owns the licensing rights) that didn’t allow their music to be played in San Andreas this time around, with some of the more popular names including 2 Pac, Rage Against The Machine, and Tom Petty. N.W.A. is another notable exception to the GTA Trilogy soundtrack, but seeing “Express Yourself” not make the cut is very odd since “Alwayz Into Somethin'” made its return. Its exemption is doubly strange since both Eazy-E and Dr. Dre – former N.W.A. members – have individual tracks included as well.

Every Song Missing In GTA San Andreas – The Definitive Edition

Here’s every song missing from the GTA Trilogy that didn’t make the cut from the original San Andreas soundtrack:

The list is pretty varied, which means not one single station was adversely affected. The incomplete soundtrack can join the list of odd quirks with this remaster, alongside the GTA Trilogy’s character redesigns, graphical bugs, and a variety of other issues stemming from developer Grove Street Games remastering previous mobile ports. San Andreas has an opportunity to reach a new audience with the release of the GTA Trilogy, but its unfortunate that its track list couldn’t be recreated in its entirety.
