Haikyuu!! Each Main Characters Most Iconic Scene

The members of the Karasuno High Volleyball Club work on their individual special skills in the sport as often as possible. Ultimately, their efforts end up leading to some of their most iconic moments throughout the entirety of Haikyuu!!

One of the most appealing aspects of the show is how tough the opposing teams of Karasuno can be, giving them tough competition consistently. It’s also great to see fan-favorite characters like the Miya twins have iconic scenes that prove their standout skills in volleyball.

10 Shoyo Hinata

As the show progresses, viewers and Hinata himself learn that even with his super cool quick-attack with Kageyama, he has a lot to learn. After sneaking into the Mock Youth Training Camp and being a ball boy, he picked up on some skills that helped him finally figure out the basics of receiving the ball.

This led to one of his most iconic scenes since he hadn’t been receiving the ball much, if at all. He finally received Aran’s spike after a fake-out by the Miya twins. His teammates were shocked, proud, and fans are sure to never forget it.

9 Tobio Kageyama

Kageyama’s skills have progressed pretty steadily throughout the series but after the All-Japan Youth Training Camp, he learned how to perfect his personal skills to be able to set to nearly anyone.

Karasuno’s Nationals game against Tsubakihara was one where Kageyama had to get used to their solid receives, blocks, and feints. He apologized to his team for taking so long to do so but he had finally tricked their opponents with a setter dump. This move not only put him in the right mood for the rest of the game but also led to his confidence to set from the back row for an attack with Hinata.

8 Yu Nishinoya

Nishinoya started out with a foot receive being his most iconic but in a qualifying game, he was having a hard time receiving Ushijima’s serves and even a foot receive wasn’t going to help.

Throughout the 5-set match between Karasuno and Shiratorizawa, Nishinoya needed a few times to get used to the way Ushijima served and spiked. He had to dive forward to receive and Ushijima immediately returned with another spike and Nishinoya was still able to dig up the ball, shocking everyone and throwing himself into a spin and giving his teammates the opportunity to get a point.

7 Ryunosuke Tanaka

During the game against Inarizaki, Tanaka faces a moment of internal reflection about how he sometimes feels just average amongst his teammates.

Just as the ball is coming down to Kageyama, Tanaka’s confidence skyrockets, he calls for the ball, and even with Suna blocking, he pulls off an impressive and intense cross-shot.

6 Kei Tsukishima

Kuroo and Bokuto wouldn’t let Tsukishima get away without a little extra practice blocking during the Training Camp Arc. Tsuki’s skills leveled up after this and he was invited to the Mock Youth Training Camp.

The second camp did even more for his understanding of read-blocking and timing. He finally blocked Ushijima’s in the game between Karasuno and Shiratorizawa. He didn’t just block, he also scored.

5 Daichi Sawamura

As Captain of the Karasuno team, Daichi has a tendency to be the voice of reason and encouragement. But as a third-year, he has the technical skills to also impress his teammates and the Haikyuu!! fans.

His most iconic scene was unfortunately one of mistake and injury. In Season 2, when Daichi and Nishinoya run out of bounds to receive, Daichi dives back in to try and save the ball, running into Tanaka face-first.

4 Tadashi Yamaguchi

As the pinch server, Yamaguchi gets substituted into the game when it is time to either keep the score up, replace a player that isn’t as good at serving, and most often to catch up to the opposing team’s score.

His best serve was a jump-float against Aoba Johsai that the players called “out” but it was just before the line and earned Karasuno a service ace.

3 Asahi Azumane

Asahi is Karasuno’s ace but wasn’t planning on coming back to the volleyball club. When he finally rejoined, he had confidence and strength levels to work on but made a comeback in the game against the Neighborhood Association.

In the game, Asahi saw Nishinoya receive a ball he could have gotten and realized that he wasn’t playing alone and could depend on his teammates. He then screams to Sugawara to send him the ball and spikes past Tsukishima, Kageyama, and Tanaka’s block.

2 Koshi Sugawara

In a game against Seijoh, Sugawara gets subbed in for Tsukishima and makes a plan with his teammates that involves him switching places with Kageyama to throw off the block of Seijoh.

When Oikawa and Iwaizumi think they have figured out the plan, Sugawara switches again in the new play and sets to Asahi, breaking through Seijoh’s wall. It wasn’t just an iconic moment for Suga but also for the whole team because it led to a long rally and eventually Seijoh’s lost point.

1 Miya Twins

Quick attacks have always been Hinata and Kageyama’s power move while at Karasuno but in the final rally between Karasuno and Inarizaki, the Miya twins were on the verge of losing and wanted to prove that they were the best setter/spiker pair.

Their quick attack is one of the fastest and most iconic moves any pair has pulled off in the games. Being brothers was always their best and worst quality when it came to being teammates but at this moment they pulled it together to get an amazing set and spike in. Unfortunately, this scene is also iconic because it immediately gets shut down by Kageyama and Hinata.
