Jamie Lee Curtis shares a behind the scenes peek at the rehearsals for Halloween Kills’ brutal Michael Myers firefighter fight. The latest installment in the ever-evolving Halloween franchise debuted in theaters and on Peacock in mid-October and swiftly proved there’s still a lot of life in the slasher series. Halloween Kills picks up on the same night as the 2018 reboot and reveals Michael managed to survive the fire at Laurie Strode’s house. While the people of Haddonfield attempt to hunt him down, Michael continues to carve a path of destruction through the unassuming town on his way home.

Halloween Kills actually opens with an extended flashback to 1978, but when it returns to the present day, it fully explains how Michael gets out of the fire. A group of firefighters arrive at the burning Strode house, and when one falls into the basement where Michael is trapped, the killer finds a way out. What follows is a bloody slaughter as Michael takes down each firefighter on the scene one by one, setting the tone for the rest of the gory Halloween Kills.

Curtis has shared a few behind the scenes looks at Halloween Kills since the movie’s release, and the latest spotlights the rehearsal for Michael Myers’ firefighter massacre. James Jude Courtney, who is one of the actors portraying “The Shape” for the franchise, goes through the moves with a group of stuntmen in Curtis’ video, and it’s pretty exciting to see the choreography come together. “@jamesjudecourtney you are a BEAST and the stunt crew are all heroes!” Curtis declared in her caption. Michael has more than a few creative slayings in Halloween Kills, and the opening fight is just the beginning. Halloween Kills has the highest body count out of the entire franchise, and the firefighters contribute a fair amount to it. The sequence was heavily hyped in the movie’s marketing, particularly the moment where Michael lifts one fireman up in the air. As revealed in the above BTS video, that was achieved through some wirework, which doesn’t diminish the overall impressiveness of the moment.

The franchise has at least one more installment on the way, with Halloween Ends currently scheduled for release in one year. The question on everybody’s minds is whether this will be the one that finally kills off Michael Myers once and for all, though this new movie demonstrated just how hard it is to do that. In terms of gore, Halloween Ends has some big shoes to fill, but maybe it doesn’t have to. Halloween Kills showed the full extent of what Michael can do, and the next one can take things down a notch. Only time will tell what the boogeyman will do next.
