While in the DCEU, Harley Quinn is often a villain or seen as the Joker’s sidekick, in the comics Harley gets the opportunity to show that she can be surprisingly sweet. In many of the current comics, Harley’s story picks up somewhere after she left the Joker; This gives her the upper hand in creating her own life and story. In some comics she even has kids or when she meets people in need she’ll create groups like the the “Gang of Harleys” to feel at home or to create a sense of community for herself and others.

The comics alone prove Harley Quinn has the capacity to be loving, understanding, self-reflective, and even wholesome. She encounters so many villains, heroes, and regular people in bad situations that sometimes she feels the need to step in and help. Other times her wholesome moments come from her loving heart.
