Warning! SPOILERS ahead for Marvel’s Hawkeye episode 5.
In honor of Hawkeye and the holiday season, Marvel shares a special message via Bishop Security’s Christmas card. Inspired by Matt Fraction and David Aja’s comic, My Life As A Weapon, Marvel Studios’ latest Disney+ series is a bona fide Christmas romp. The series follows Clint Barton/Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and protégée/superfan Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) as they become tangled up in a criminal conspiracy while coming into conflict with the Tracksuit Mafia, Maya/Echo (Alaqua Cox), and their enigmatic boss. Hawkeye also stars Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James, and Florence Pugh.
At the beginning of the series, audiences were introduced to Kate’s mom, Eleanor Bishop (Farmiga), who runs the security company, Bishop Security. Eleanor becomes engaged to Jack Duquesne (Dalton) who, despite begin overtly nice, is Kate’s prime suspect in the murder of his uncle, Armand. After a little investigation on the part of Clint, it’s revealed that Jack is the CEO of a shell company, Sloan Limited, with ties to the Tracksuit Mafia. Following Jack’s arrest, Hawkeye’s penultimate episode unveiled Eleanor as the mastermind behind Sloan Limited and the one who ordered the Black Widow hit on Clint. Suffice to say, Bishop Security may not be a fit for your family.
Marvel Studios recently posted a sweet Christmas card from Eleanor’s Bishop Security on social media. Ironically, the card’s message reads “your safety matters most this holiday season”—which certainly doesn’t ring true for Clint. Check it out below.

At the end of episode 5, Yelena Belova (Pugh)—who seriously has it out for Clint—texted “Kate Bishop” and said she found out who hired her while sending a picture of Eleanor and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio), the mysterious figure behind the Tracksuit Mafia. Not only does this have serious implications for Netflix’s Daredevil characters but it makes Kingpin and Kate’s mother Hawkeye’s two-headed, antagonistic dragon. It seems safe to say Bishop Security won’t come out of Hawkeye a successful enterprise under Eleanor.
From its use of music, decorations, and ugly Christmas sweaters to its buddy-cop vibe and “make it home for Christmas” narrative, Hawkeye has trumped Iron Man 3 as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s holiday special. When the sixth and final episode drops on December 22nd, the entire series will be available to binge this Christmas and for Christmases to come. That being said, fingers crossed for Clint, Kate, and the unfortunate employees/customers of Bishop Security.
