Hawkeye’s Lucky the Pizza Dog actor, Jolt, posts an incredibly wholesome photo of her warmly embracing co-star Hailee Steinfeld. In the MCU’s newest entry Steinfeld stars as Kate Bishop, who partners up with her idol Clint Barton/Hawkeye, played by Jeremey Renner. The pair cross paths after Bishop comes across Barton’s Ronin costume at an auction, attracting unwanted attention from enemies that he made during his time as the vigilante in Avengers: Endgame. The Disney+ series is currently four episodes in, with the latest one revealing the return of Black Widow star Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova.

Lucky the Pizza Dog was rescued by Bishop in Hawkeye episode 1 after his altercation with the Tracksuit Mafia. The canine companion has been present in all four of the episodes so far, becoming quite the fan favourite. Referred to as “Pizza Dog” due to his love for the food, Lucky was introduced to the Marvel Universe in Matt Fraction’s 2012 comic Hawkeye (Vol. 4) #1, initially named Arrow and being owned by the Tracksuit Mafia. Lucky rescues Barton by attacking his former owners, but is brutally beaten up, causing him to lose his left eye. He is then taken in by both Barton and Bishop, who rename him Lucky.

The adorable animal actor who portrays Lucky is named Jolt, a female golden retriever. Jolt’s Instagram account is quite active and constantly updates fans with Hawkeye-related content. The latest post was dedicated to Steinfeld, who recently turned 25, as she cuddles her animal co-star. The caption reads “Hugs for the birthday girl,” followed by a purple heart emoji and the hashtag “#happybirthdayhailee.” The heart-warming post has gained over ten thousand likes and is filled with love in the comment section. Jolt first stole the hearts of fans in December of 2020, when Jeremy Renner uploaded a behind-the-scenes Instagram post of him and Hailee Steinfeld with Jolt on set. Fans were excited at the time to see the show sticking with the original comic material, having Lucky around as both Barton and Bishop’s loyal sidekick. Lucky’s origins have slightly changed in the Disney+ series, with Bishop finding him instead of Barton. Shortly after Jeremey Renner’s post, a photo of Jolt with her head through an actual pizza box was posted on her Instagram, showing how her real-life love for pizza made her the perfect casting choice.

The golden retriever is a wonderful asset to the Hawkeye series. Having a cute, furry scene-stealer helps promote the show through social media, with fans being able to interact with the animal actor. With two more episodes left of Hawkeye, it is yet to reveal Clint Barton’s future in the MCU and Phase 4. But being the series’ very own Baby Yoda, fans are hoping to see more of Lucky the Pizza Dog in the series’ final two episodes.
