Legendary Clue 3 is a questline available in the Pokemon Crown Tundra DLC. This guide will show players how they can solve it. Pokemon Crown Tundra is the last piece of the Pokemon: Sword & Shield expansion pass. This marked the first time in the Pokemon series where a mainline title has received paid DLC. Included were over 200 returning Pokemon from previous generations, new areas to explore in an open-world fashion, new legendary Pokemon with their own lore tied to the Galar region, and hundreds of hidden items to encounter while wandering the icy wasteland. One of the biggest things players can do is complete the Legendary Clue quests in the Crown Tundra. Here’s how players can complete Legendary Clue 3.
Legendary Clue 3 involves the legendary birds from the Kanto region but this time with their own Galarian variations. Alternate forms of older Pokemon were introduced back in Pokemon Sun and Moon with those regions Alola forms. Based on the environment of said region, certain Pokemon are effect in different ways, including different designs, moves, and typings. This theme carried over with the creation of Galarian forms, a set of Pokemon exclusive to the Galar region. The legendary birds, Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltres all have their own Galarian forms in this DLC. Here’s how players can encounter them and complete Legendary Clue 3.
How To Solve Legendary Clue 3 in The Pokemon Crown Tundra DLC
The player will first need to locate the legendary Galarian birds at the Dyna Hill Tree. The Dyna Hill Tree can be found at the very bottom of the map of the Crown Tundra. The player will need to cross the river under the Great Bed to access this location. The moment the player arrives, they will be greeted by a cutscene of the three Galarian legendary birds having a battle. The player spooks the Pokemon away from the tree and they scatter across different locations in the Galar region. Before leaving, players will be able to find the Brave Bird TR resting under the tree. Also, players can shake the tree for plenty of berries. Here’s where players can find each of the Galarian birds.
- Zapdos: Runs off to the Wild Area. It will run throughout the Wild Area. Corner it on your bike to battle it.
- Moltres: Runs off to the Isle of Armor. Wait at the Dojo for it to return and whistle once it gets close enough.
- Articuno: Runs off to the Crown Tundra before the entrance to the Tunnel To The Top. It will duplicate itself to throw the player off. Charge at them all the find the right one.
The player will then need to locate and capture all of these Pokemon and return back to Peony to confirm the completion of this Legendary Clue. No more DLC has been announced for Pokemon: Sword & Shield and with the track record of Game Freak, it is likely there won’t be anymore. Game Freak will likely push towards working on their next mainline Pokemon title, whether it be a remake of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl or a new mainline entry is unknown. Hopefully, the DLC will continue to be the main method of releasing new content to liven up the regions. It has been one of the best features to come from Game Freak.
