Iron Man Reveals His New Iron Shinobi Squadron

Warning! Potential spoilers for Avengers: Tech-On #4 by Marvel Comics

Marvel’s Iron Man just revealed a new defense protocol that helped the Avengers take down an army of Ultron’s after the superteam became overwhelmed by their opponents. In Avengers: Tech-On #4 by Marvel Comics, Tony Stark called for the Iron Shinobi Squadron, a group of remote-controlled Iron Men that provides backup to the Avengers when needed. The suits of battle armor proved to be just what the team needed.

Avengers: Tech-On series by Marvel Comics tells the story of what would happen if the Avengers lost their powers and each hero gained their own custom Iron Man mech suit courtesy of Tony Stark. In the comic, the Red Skull has obtained the last remaining remnants of the Infinity Stones and used them to depower Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. To fight back against the superpowered villain, Tony Stark built custom mech suits for each of his fellow heroes that replicate their original powers. The suits have been put to immediate use, as the Red Skull unleashed several threats against the Avengers, including a superpowered Loki and now, an army of Ultrons.

In Avengers: Tech-On #4 by Jim Zub, Jeff “Chamba” Cruz, and VC’s Travis Lanham, Red Skull unleashes his army of Ultrons on the Avengers. Unfortunately, the heroes soon become overwhelmed by the sheer number of Ultron robots attacking them, leading Iron Man to call on his Iron Shinobis for backup. Tony Stark reveals he used the same factory that created his fellow Avengers’ mech suits to make the Iron Shiobis, remote-controlled Iron Men programmed to attack or assist when needed against larger forces.

Iron Man admits the Iron Shinobis aren’t as good in combat as the real Avengers but calls them a pretty “solid backup” in a pinch. While the reinforcements would help stop the army of Ultron robots, Captain Marvel would express frustration that Stark was keeping more secrets from her. Iron Man tells Captain Marvel that she would have seen the Iron Shinobis if she had visited his factories instead of taking in tourist sites in Japan.

In the end, the Iron Shinobis helped the Avengers take down Red Skull’s army of Ultron robots – even if they cause minor conflict and trust issues among the team. The Iron Avengers might have lost their latest battle against Red Skull and his Ultron fighters without the Iron Shinobi protocol. So, while his teammates might not be thrilled with more secrets being kept from them, Iron Man’s Iron Shinobi Squadron proved to be the perfect backup in a dire situation. Avengers: Tech-On #4 is in comic book stores now.
