Here’s how to watch Descendants 2 online, including whether the movie is on major streaming services like Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime. The Disney Channel’s Descendants franchise is set in a universe populated by classic Disney characters and split into two; the United States of Auradon, a Kingdom ruled by Belle and the Beast that’s inhabited by heroes, and the Isle of the Lost, an island slum where banished Disney villains reside and an enchanted force field prevents them from performing magic.

The franchise chronicles the adventures of four kids from the Isle of the Lost – Mal (Dove Cameron), Carlos (Cameron Boyce), Evie (Sofia Carson) and Jay (Booboo Stewart) – who are the offspring of infamous Disney villains Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, the Evil Queen and Jafar. After the foursome are invited to live in Auradon away from the nefarious influence of their parents, they soon find themselves fitting in with the Disney goodies despite their villainous ancestry.

It all began back in 2015 when the Disney Channel aired the short-form TV series Descendants: School Of Secrets to generate excitement in the lead-up to the first movie’s release. Today, the Descendants franchise includes a trilogy of movies, an animated TV show titled Descendants: Wicked World and several novels. The second movie, Descendants 2, was released back in 2017 and saw Maleficent’s daughter Mal struggling with her newfound celebrity status as the girlfriend of Belle and the Beast’s son King Ben (Mitchell Hope). For Disney fans watching the whole Descendants movie trilogy, Descendants 2 is pretty much essential viewing but where can the Disney Channel movie be watched online?

Unfortunately, Descendants 2 isn’t on Netflix nor is it on Disney-owned Hulu either, funnily enough. Amazon Prime members are in luck, however, as Descendants 2 is currently available via the Amazon-owned streaming service alongside the first movie and sequel Descendants 3. On the downside, they currently aren’t free to watch with Prime membership and cost $3.99 to rent or from $4.99 to buy. Prime also has all the episodes of the animated shorts series Descendants: Wicked World, which are available to purchase in bundles for just $1.99.

The best place for fans to get their Descendants fix is definitely on Disney+. The streaming service has all three movies in the trilogy, including Descendants 2. The Disney+ library also offers its subscribers both seasons of Descendants: Wicked World and the live-action short Under The Sea: A Descendants Story alongside plenty more original Disney Channel content.
