JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure may be returning far sooner than fans expected. Rumors have emerged that suggest that a new part of the popular manga is coming. What was initially thought to be the end, may be just the beginning of another adventure in the hit series.

Hirohiko Araki created JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure in 1984 and the series has received eight parts thus far. Each part tells the story of a different member of the Joestar family. The latest part, Jojolion, is about Josuke – a character who should not be confused with the Josuke in Part 4, who is a completely different person. These parts often deal with supernatural elements and crime. This manga is published by Shueisha, the company that publishes Weekly Shōnen Jump. This is the company’s longest running manga – and it isn’t showing signs of stopping.

According to Shonen Jump News – Unofficial and Manga Mogura RE, current rumors are suggesting that Hirohiko Araki has confirmed a ninth part to the series. There are also reports of comments within Ultra Jump – the magazine that publishes JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure – stating that a new part is coming after a “short break.” The rumored title is JOJO LANDS. Additionally, a new spin-off manga is said to be on the way, promising fans even more of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure than they may have believed would be coming in the near future.

With JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 8: JoJolion wrapping up, fans were wondering if this would be the end of the series. After all, Araki has been working on this series for 37 years and the most recent part has been told over a 10-year period and 26 volumes. However, not every part of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has been so long. If these reports turn out to be true, fans will have a lot to be excited about. The rumored spin-off manga does not currently have a title, though it is believed to focus on Josuke and Hol Horse. Hol Horse was introduced in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 3: Stardust Crusaders. Hol Horse was last seen retiring following an incident that left him recovering from severe injury within Stardust Crusaders. How this spin-off manga would connect these characters and to the rest of the series is currently unknown – though there is plenty of room for fans to speculate while awaiting further JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure news.

Being one of Weekly Shōnen Jump’s best-selling series of all time, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure certainly has a large enough following to merit continuing the story. Additionally, the story has nearly limitless potential considering the jumps in time that it makes and the variety of characters who can lead individual parts. It isn’t about a singular character or one particular group. This saga defies chronology and stereotypical story-telling within the genre by broadening its scope to an entire family with multiple generations to focus on at different times. The Joestar family doesn’t seem to be done telling its story, which means fans should keep an eye out for further developments on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure in the near future.
