Kevin James plays NFL Coach Sean Payton in the upcoming Netflix movie Home Team. Inspired by the real-life head coach of the New Orleans Saints, the comedy is the latest collaboration from Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison and James’ Hey Eddie Productions. James is fresh off starring in and producing another sports-centered Netflix project: the sitcom The Crew, which focused on NASCAR.

Netflix dropped the official trailer for the family-friendly flick, giving a first look at James as Payton. While the resemblance isn’t uncanny, it’s fun to see the actor in full NFL coach garb. From stadium scenes to comedic bits, the trailer gives viewers a dose of what can be expected from the lighthearted romp. Check out the full promo below:

After being suspended from the NFL, coach Payton aims to reconnect with his son (Tait Blum) by coaching his down and out youth football team. Happy Madison regulars like Rob Schneider appear in the movie, alongside Sandler’s wife Jackie Sandler and nephew Jared Sandler. The movie also brings Twilight franchise star Taylor Latuner back to the screen in a major role. Home Team is directed by Chuck and Dan Kinnane and written by Chris Titone and Keith Blum.

While the plot is nothing revolutionary, it does have the inspired by a true story angle working in its favor. Of course, though truth might linger in the script, it’s sure to shine with a topcoat of Sandler’s regular over-the-top comedy. An outlandish barf scene in the trailer makes this clear. Fans will see James in all his Payton glory when Home Team hits Netflix on January 28.
