Developer Traveller’s Tales has been making LEGO games for well over a decade. Ever since the 2005 release of LEGO Star Wars, the England-based dev team has entertained fans of all ages with their quirky and hilarious action platformers. With a few exceptions (such as LEGO City Undercover), most of their titles have been based on established franchises, like Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jurassic Park, and more.
The latest title from TT is LEGO DC Super Villains, the followup to LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. This game flips the script, putting players in control of the Justice League’s fiercest enemies, from Lex Luthor and Darkseid to The Joker and Harley Quinn. Unlike publisher WB’s other recent comics-based game, LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2, which was criticized for its underwhelming cast of actors (a result of a union strike) the publisher spared no expense with DC Super Villains, hiring acclaimed voice talent, often pulling from DC’s long history of animated shows and movies.

Clancy Brown and Michael Ironside reprise their voices from Superman: The Animated Series (Lex Luthor and Darkseid, respectively), and none other than Kevin Conroy returns as Batman. Mark Hamill shows off that he is still the best choice for The Joker, and John Barrowman plays Merlyn, reprising his role from The CW’s Arrow.
At New York Comic Con, we got the chance to spend some time with actors Nyambi Nyambi and Dee Bradley Baker. In LEGO DC Super Villains, Nyambi plays John Stewart, the Green Lantern, but is also known for voicing Martian Manhunter in the James Tucker-produced DC animated films. Baker is one of the most prolific voice actors in the business, with hundreds of credits to his name, from Star Wars: The Clone Wars and American Dad! to Olmec, the “co-host,” so to speak, of the classic children’s game show, Legends of the Hidden Temple. In LEGO DC Super Villains, the actor portrays villains Clock King and Desaad, a disciple of Darkseid.
Alongside the actors, we also got to speak with Ames Kirshen and Phil Ring; Kirshen is a Vice President of Interactive and Animation at DC, and has worked on the Batman Arkham series in addition to his role on this decidedly more lighthearted take on the DC mythos. Ring is an Executive Producer at TT Games.

Zak Wojnar is a writer from New York City. He’s covered everything from video games and movies to maple syrup and deli business. Thanks to Screen Rant, he’s discovered his newest passion, interviewing artists. He takes great joy in letting film and gaming legends tell their own story and share their passion for their art. Zak’s first memory is going with his dad to Tower Records and buying the VHS boxed set of the original Star Wars trilogy. Over the next decade or so, those tapes would be completely worn out through overuse. When he’s not preparing for the next big interview, he can usually be found sitting too close to the TV, either re-watching Miami Vice or The X-Files, or getting lost in a video game. Zak has bylines at Game Informer, Muscle & Fitness, PopCultureGalaxy, Men’s Fitness, Cheese Connoisseur, and Deli Business (see, that wasn’t a joke before!), among others.
