Guinness World Record holder Paul Ufema was disqualified in his attempt at the fastest build of Star Wars’ Millennium Falcon LEGO set. The Millennium Falcon is an intergalatic ship most famously used by Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) in the original Star Wars movie trilogy. Ufema is an avid LEGO builder, and runs a YouTube channel dedicated to LEGO called All New Bricks.

Before his attempt at the Falcon, Ufema previously held the record for the fastest build of the LEGO Colosseum set. The set contained 9,036 pieces, and Ufema managed to complete the build in 13 hours, 37 minutes and 36 seconds. After receiving his certificate for the build, Ufema said that he badly wanted to try again to break another record. This time, Ufema would be building the LEGO Millennium Falcon, which contains 7,541 pieces.

In a recent video posted on the Guinness World Records YouTube channel, Ufema describes how one singular piece was the downfall of his second record. After completing the build in 16 hours, 10 minutes and 29 seconds, Ufema discovered he had an extra piece. According to Ufema, he initially dismissed this as a mistake, assuming the box came with one too many pieces. Despite this, Ufema went back and checked the instructions again, only to discover that he had indeed missed one small addition. Watch the full video below:

Ufema still submitted his accomplishment to Guinness, however, he did state in his letter that he had missed a piece when building the ship. According to the video, Ufema even sent Guinness pictures of the piece, and the location in which it should appear on the Star Wars LEGO set. This ultimately led Guinness to disqualify Ufema. While he was disappointed by this decision, Ufema maintains that Guinness was very gracious about the disqualification and “weren’t jerks at all.” In fact, the team even expressed having “a hard time” with the decision, but the judges ultimately had to abide by the rules.

Ufema’s honestly is certainly to be commended. While many others may have lied to get the certification, Ufema felt the need to be open with the Guinness World Records judges. Ufema even stated in the video that many of his friends don’t understand why he would tell the truth when submitting his build for the record. Ufema said he is very proud of his previous record, and didn’t want to tarnish a second by knowing that he didn’t deserve it. Clearly, he is a person who truly takes pride in his work and accomplishments. Ufema has stated that he will be trying for the record again, but not any time soon. He does, however, suspect that he will have made another attempt at the Star Wars ship before the year is out. With his new knowledge of the extra piece, it is likely the LEGO champion will become one of the lucky two-time Guinness World Record holders.
